Close to you , and sweet Lorraine are my absolutely favs. These songs brings me directly in a good mood. Both songs only on 2,guitars. As an old Pink Floyd Fan “ Wish you were here. “ At least the whole music is wonderful . Also the Beatles songs.

I recently bought the Duo Sessions album in December, and I enjoy listening to it so much. They’re all of my favorites, but the way you two sing, Both Sides Now, is so beautiful. I love the pin I received, too!

I bought this album along with three Beatles and More plus Orange.
I love all of them for your singing in tune, excellent playing and the clean, uncluttered arrangements and production. But this is my favourite for two reasons:
1/ As a stripped down kinda guy, I like to listen to and perform stripped down music. It is very me and you do it so well.
2/ Because these recording have no bass part, I can jam a bass part that is my own, improvising as much or as little as I like and having a blast all the while.
WAY too much fun! Even the serious songs are fun.

Your version and your harmonic duo turned me to water… thankyou… that was beautiful

As with all of your covers and original music I have found each album to be some of the best music I have heard in way too long a time. Am looking forward to your new original album as I’m sure it will be as great as all your music. keep up then good work

I think this is wonderful. And thanks for saying “stay groovy” which assumes I’m already groovy!

As usual Mona and Lisa you continue to outdo yourselves it’s just another album for me to love and listen to all the time frankly you don’t have enough music for me to run out of I just keep playing over and over again and as did the Beatles your music just never gets old show any additions like the new upcoming album I can’t wait to hear either I’ve had two more surgeries in the last month but the only pain pill I need is MLT please keep it coming

I’m an old guy, so I remember the original versions of these songs. I remember how much happiness and “magic” these songs brought us.
Truthfully, I would rather listen to the ML Twins versions of these songs. I am blown away by the musical mastery and vocal beauty of both Lisa and Mona. Anyone can cover a song, but they capture the details and nuances of the songs that make them special.
Additionally, they add quality and beauty to the songs. Two examples that come to mind are “Baby’s in Black” and “Both Sides Now”.
In “Baby’s in Black”, Lisa brings out a “country flavor” that George was trying to achieve. Lisa must have been channeling Chet Atkins. The ML Twins version is so much better.
The ML Twins version of “Both Sides Now” has stronger guitar performances and the ladies voices are much prettier (sorry, Joni). It was a ho-hum song to me before, but now I love it.
All the other songs are likewise beautiful and perfect. The harmonies are Wonderful!
    Thank You Girls!

Great album. I had some folks over and they were like “who is that?” Super clean so found.

I can’t speak highly enough of The Duo Sessions . An album clearly made by accomplished, confidant musicians who aren’t afraid to tackle challenging songs. At the same time they elevate seemingly simple, fun songs, add nuance to them and make them fresh and vibrant. They make it look so easy. These stripped down intimate songs reveal what great musicians they are. Gorgeous vocals and great guitar and harmonica. Like all the rest of their work, this album is professionally done but fun and unpretentious. Their love of performing and creating shines through. Their original songs work seamlessly with the covers which shows what great songs they are. There isn’t a song on this well thought out album that I didn’t like or that does’t fit in with the rest.
I find it interesting that many of the songs they cover (Like “The Kids Are All Right” & “Pretty Flamingo” are originally from a male perspective. I love the fact that they don’t change the viewpoint to a female one but that that they perform it in a very feminine way. As a result their versions are original and fresh. They are truly great performers in that they play the role of the songs male character in a completely believable manner but with a feminine voice.

“Good Day Sunshine”: An uplifting feel good song to start the album. Love that; “ Burns my feet as they touch the grouuuuund” Sets up that mood of intimacy that follows for the rest of the album.

“The Kids Are All Right”: Its great to hear two women perform this young man angst song. Great vocals. Great guitar. Fun and catchy. Makes you want to stamp your feet. Sound like they had fun performing it .

“It Ain’t Me Babe”: Love this performance. Again great vocal and guitar. The jaunty friendly way they sing contrasts wonderfully with the critical accusatory lyrics but sung like they really mean it . I especially like the unique way they perform the “Melt back into the night” verse” Wonderful Dylanesque harmonica.

“Close To You”: Such gorgeous vocals and guitar. Fits the intimate mood of the album beautifully. Great accomplished lyrics.

“Tonight You Belong To Me”: Oh that harmonizing! Sweet, romantic performance. They took a 94 year old song and made it vibrant, timeless, catchy and infectious. An intimate song that showcases their many talents .

“ Both Sides Now”: A masterpiece. I’m not a musician but Joni Mitchell must be a really difficult artist to cover. Her songs are so complex and delve so deeply. The vocals here are breathtakingly beautiful. This is a really moving performance. Performed by talented, confidant, seasoned musicians. Like the lilting understated harmonica.

“Imagine”: Such a salient song, particularly right now. Again, moving performance. Superb vocals and guitar. Love the “youhoooo”

“All About Falling In Love”: This song really grows on me. Again wonderful vocals & lyrics. Its a testament to what a great song this is that it fits in so well with the rest of these gems.

“ Tired Of Waiting” : Love the Kinks. Really nice original fresh cover. Makes me want to snap my fingers. Great vocals. Love that youuuu!

“Baby’s In Black: Always loved this song. Great performance. They have the Beatles coursing in their veins. Catchy, really nice guitar and vocals.

“Pretty Flamingo”: This song grows on me more and more with each listen. Snappy, infectious. Another superb performance. Completely captured the flavour of the original. But utterly unique. Listen to that “Shalalala Pretty Flamingo” It makes me swoon. Captivating, fun vocals. Great harmonica. A very feel good song that showcases their versatility.

“”Sweet Lorraine”: Another great original that works well with the rest of the album. Fantastic guitar and lyrics. Well sung in a friendly, sympathetic way.

“I’m Looking Through You”: Another Beatles song that they make their own. Exceptional cool vocals. Again catchy and infectious.

“Wish You Were Here”: Another song that I think many would find hard to cover. Again they nailed it. Faithful to the original, especially the superb guitar. Stunning vocals. Love the “aaaaaa”

“Here Comes The Sun”: Great positive song to end with. Especially needed right now. Again superb vocals, warmly sung. Really nice guitar.

If you’re feeling weary, fearful and cynical about the state of the world right now. I highly recommend putting on a pair of headphones, siting down with a glass of your favourite beverage and immerse your self in this great album. You’ll feel a lot better. Or better yet listen to it with some one you care about.

Absolutely fantastic listening, if there had to be a niggle it is a personal one, I have always loved
“The Kids Are Alright” and on the last verse in the original there is an extra bit of harmony on the word “Alright”
You two do lovely harmonies so I really missed that last harmony on that track, otherwise perfect, Thank you:)

    Love your work

Now we hear what you’d sound like in a living room or small coffee shop, which for most performing songwriting is a spare, acoustic, stripped-down version of what we get from the studio or a full-band venue. For me, it’s where the rubber meets the road, and you do this quite well!
