Mona, have to add…I am glad that you like my suggestions pertaining to Beatles songs. White Album and Abbey Road material. Each song has an edge and it would be cool to see your interpretations.

I would be flattered if you would do any of the abovementioned songs!

I am a high school Business teacher, and I plan to sign yearbooks this year with your traditional “stay groovy”. It just seems so appropriate.

Thank you Mona! No worries about your greeting being slightly belated. You and Lisa, and, of course, Papa Rudi and Michaela, have been very busy.

As I have mentioned earlier, “Questionable” was written and recorded at a perfect point in your lives.

Thank you for your answers to my questions. Language-wise, you are staying true to your heritage while spreading your wings at the same time. That is what makes the Wagner’s groovy!

Been exploring the website and found Mona’s answer to this simply perfect and, in a few words, simply states what the MonaLisa Twins are all about!

It is just so impressive that Mona and Lisa follow the caveat, “to thyself be true”. Mona and Lisa do what they love and it shows in all their endeavors.

Thank you ladies, for following your own path. It is a path that has produced wonderful music!

    Yes, Yes, Yes!

I saw this video a while back and he was thrilled with “Still a Friend of Mine”. It was the first MonaLisa Twins video that he saw and has reviewed others such as “Wish You Were Here”, “All I Want Christmas to Be”, “Little Drummer Boy”, “I Bought Myself a Politician”, “One More Time”, “Once Upon a Time”, “Please Mr. Postman”, and “Walking in the Air”.

He called it his MonaLisa Twins journey. It was a wonderful journey, indeed!

Agreed, agreed, and agreed! Nobody can harmonize like the MonaLisa Twins. Their individual voices, both alike and unique from each other, excel from ballads to pure rock.

It is especially nice that they are able to select the lead singer on each tune with 100% accuracy! Certainly, either sister could lead on any song, but they always make the right choice that makes the tune “pop”! Of course, there are pure Mona songs and pure Lisa songs, but the ones that is in either lady’s wheelhouse must be selected with great care. It is easy to see that there is no tension. They choose the sister who is best for each song.

“If I Fell” and “Here, There, and Everywhere” are just two examples of them singing together that is pure magic!

Their voices, along with their musicianship, takes them to an elite level. The Duo Sessions are my favorite so I can appreciate their guitar, bass, and percussion skills. In Pretty Flamingo, Mona is playing the guitar, harmonica, and the Wazinator at the same time…all while singing. Lisa’s lead guitar skills are always impeccable.

Pittsburgh!!! Both my parents were born and raised in Pirates country: My dad in Dayton, PA (Armstrong County) and my mom in Titusville (Crawford County). Hope that you have visited PNC Park. It is, perhaps, the nicest ballpark in the MLB!

“Q” is a great show. I remember the infamous interview with Billy Bob Thornton and the Boxmasters! Since Tom Power has assumed the host duties he has really upgraded the show. His interview with Serena Ryder was most likely the best show in the history of “Q”!

“Q” would be a great vehicle for Mona and Lisa. In my opinion, the best vehicle! Intelligent host; big audience both across Canada and the U.S. via Sirius XM; and, of course, Mona and Lisa.

An appearance on this show would provide the biggest exposure in the most appropriate setting!

In a perfect world: Live Q interview at the Glenn Gould Studio at the CBC headquarters on Front Street on the day of a Blue Jays game (I could attend the show and then go to the game). But since this is not a perfect world, the ladies can do the broadcast from their home.

I remember Tom Power when he did mostly classical shows (I believe “Disk Drive”) and he would sometimes be a guest host on CBC Mornings.

Even though I am from the States, I grew up about 3 miles from the border. We considered Niagara Falls, NY and Niagara Falls, ONT as one big city. Now I live about 20. All things Canadian is a big part of my life.

Aware and understood. Looking at more of the Public and Indie type stations. Toronto has Indie-88, CIUT (U of T) and of course, the CBC. The U.S. has NPR where non-commercial music is prevalent.

In the U.S. it is true that the most radio stations are owned by conglomerates, but it would be the Indie’s, not the mainstream programmed stations, that may best suit the MLT purpose!

Learning more…digging through the MLT Club I found that No More Worries Company was a song that Papa Rudi wrote during the 1980s. Once one falls into the “rabbit hole” it is amazing what one learns!

Lita Ford’s “Lisa”? Interesting, and certainly do-able.

Billy Idol’s “Mony Mony”? Nah, our ladies are above that. But we will keep thinking.

Welcome to the MLT Club! I am a relatively new fan myself…found them during the “Get Back” revolution that recently occurred. Thank you for helping support Mona, Lisa, Michaela and Papa Rudi. You will see their most recent results soon when they complete and release to us their new video “Questionable”. Enjoy the early song release. At the moment, it is available only to us club members.

Also, you will enjoy the questions and comments by the club members. They are a fantastic group of people whose kindness certainly is appreciated by the Wagner family.

Welcome…all the fun stuff will make you stand up and say “I feel good!’ Sorry for the Godfather of Soul pun, had to do it!

    Thank you Jung!

Although I have never been there, everything that I have heard and read is that Vancouver is a great place to live as well. Clean, lots of beautiful scenery and culture, professional sports, and the setting of all those Hallmark movies that my wife loves to watch!

I think what makes our areas similar is that they are border areas. In Pre-Covid times we could just “escape our existence” and go to another country, if even just for a day.

Years ago, when I was in teachers college here in the U.S., most of my classmates were Canadian. It was like I was an “Honorary Canuck” for a year…probably one of best experiences of my life. I enjoyed studying with them so much I took one of my teaching placements in Niagara-on-the-Lake. Learned a great deal and enjoyed it very much.

Later, I was given the opportunity to be on the Adjunct Faculty at the University (in addition to my high school teaching and coaching duties). It was a privilege both teaching and learning from some great young people from Ontario!

Well enough of that. Let’s all enjoy some MonaLisa Twins music. That is what we are here for! Thank you, Jung, for all your great contributions to this site!!!

    Jung:

Leave it to you to be a beacon of information…kudos!

When I learned that Lisa was the older sister, I was confused that she wasn’t named Mona. But this makes sense. Lisa was named first after the Cat Stevens song and Mona was named to put the MonaLisa touch to the two names.

Leave it to Papa Rudi, being the artist that he is, to do that!

It’s cool. Plus, we all have to admit that Billy Idol was a good guy in the movie, “The Wedding singer”. He really helped Adam Sandler out when he was trying to get to Drew Barrymore!

    My favorite Canadian cuisine: HARVEYS

My wife’s favorite Canadian cuisine: SWISS CHALET

Don’t laugh, we live about 20 minutes from the border and often (before the pandemic) would drive to Canada for our favorites. We especially love those combination Harveys/Swiss Chalet outlets. Been to Canada only once since the pandemic started to spend the weekend in Toronto to see the Blue Jays. I think we ate at each place three times each in two days!

Canada is not without its’ charms.
