Most Wonderful Time Of The Year (Download)

It’s The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year …

… debatable, obviously! But to us it is a pretty darn wonderful time, this Christmas season. Music, family, hot chocolate and sparkly lights definitely aren’t making things worse ;-)This is the Christmas video we made back in 2015 and for today’s Advent calender window (or door … we’re still not sure) we want to give you the free download to add to your Xmas playlist.

What are your thoughs? Is this your favourite season, or do you generally prefer other parts of the year? We’d say that all things considered we’re more Summer people but then again we wouldn’t appreciate the sunny nice days the same way, if it wasn’t for the cold during the rest of the year. There is sunshine after rain, ey? 🙂

See you all tomorrow,
Mona & Lisa♄♄

Growing up Christmas was a really big deal to us kids. As the #5 child out of 6 kids and money always in short supply looking forward to what would end up being the only new toys we would get during the years was a big deal. Those playthings had to last a year..lol. Singing around the piano as my mother played was a big part of the festivities and then further traditions that went with Midnight Mass and caroling are great memories. We visited relatives that were nearby and of course had to sample all the baked treats for the holidays. When the time came for the roles to reverse and we were the parents and had our own kids, we were in charge of providing them with good Christmas memories because a big part of the Christmas Traditions are for the kids. Not just toys but decorating the house and once again music and Church related celebrations. Taking the kids to the Living Nativity was always a favorite of mine and going to live music concerts featuring Christmas tunes of course. Never really got into the big commercialized end that went with this time of year. We celebrated having family together and while the kids got toys and other gifts it wasn’t the focus. As the kids got older Christmas ended up being what we refer to as a “Food Holiday” like Thanksgiving. Very little gift giving but lots of time spent with family.
Living in South Florida I won’t even get into the weather part of the equation since if we get weather that gets into the 50s at night that is as close as we get to a White Christmas. At least we can wear Christmas sweaters.
Here’s wishing everyone’s Christmas time is a cheerful one.

It is the most wonderful time of the year and this video is so cute, so well done and so happy. Just the picture above expresses your fun sense of humor. The little wave goodbye at the end from “Rudolph” is touching and sweet. One of my greatest joys in following you is being part of your Christmas season through your special video gifts! Thank you for all of them!

I’m definitely not a cold weather person and prefer Spring and Summer. I like the Christmas season but hate how commercialized it’s become. When I was a boy the season didn’t start until after Thanksgiving and now Halloween’s barely over when they start shoving all the commercialization down our throats and Thanksgiving is all but forgotten. I don’t know what it’s like in Europe but here by the time Christmas gets here I’m about wiped out. It seems like it’s all about presents and personally I could do without that part. I like the lights, the trees, the music (especially MLT Christmas music) and spending quiet time with my family. I don’t mind giving the grandchildren some gifts but I think kids get entirely too much stuff at Christmas and come to expect it and don’t seem to appreciate it. The real meaning of the season gets lost in the constant bombarding of retail advertising. Heck I just learned tonight that you actually have to make an appointment to see Santa Claus at one of the stores here. But don’t get me wrong, I’m not an old Scrooge. I just long for the days when the season was simpler and the meaning was still clear. I’ve watched your Merry Christmas video several times where you’re both maybe 15 and singing I guess it’s an Austrian Christmas song. I have no idea what you’re saying but I can feel something very special watching and listening. It’s very heartwarming and very real and it makes me feel good and that’s how this season should make us feel. So to Mona and Lisa, I thank you. You do brighten my days and this season. Merry Christmas to your whole family. Your parents raised two remarkable young ladies and I’m glad I’m part of your fan base. You have no idea how much joy and happiness your work brings to me.

We definitely agree with you on the point of things having become terribly commercialised. To be honest, while we know it’s happening, it isn’t something that affects us much as we don’t watch a lot of TV and tend to shop locally.

I guess focusing on the Christmas spirit for what it’s supposed to be is kind of up to each family individually but I can imagine that having kids and big families these days where children start to “expect” to be getting as many presents as their peers and being more susceptible to advertising and the commercial narrative can get a bit frustrating. I can also imagine that working in retail for example would make you hate the Christmas season but as someone who isn’t really involved in the madness of it all, there are still a lot of very pleasant things about this time of the year.

Nevertheless I’m already looking forward to summer again 😛

I do have some things I enjoy about Xmas time… At least memories with both parents now deceased… Dad driving both Mom and I around different neighborhoods admiring outdoor Xmas lights on houses and apt balconies… My one aunt that still living (Dad’s sister) had and still does this wee Xmas tabletop decoration of a house all Xmas decorated with Santa and Sleigh wired to chimney which moved around if you pulled gently on string… The same Aunt and Uncle when they were still married and lived out in the country on their dairy farm… Loved those times… Still love time spent with my own immediate family of siblings and niece and nephews and cousins on my Dad’s side along with that same Aunt…. I do love Xmas decorations… Outdoor Xmas lights and decorations… Family and Friends time spent together… As well as me trying to figure out how to play Silent Night on my Aunt’s puano/organ when at her place. Fond and cherished memories… Even Dad’s last Xmas with us in 2010 and Mom’s back in Xmas 1994 when she was in LTC hospital last 10 yrs of her life.. Dad in Nursing home last 8 yrs of his life but got to go spend Xmas Day with family. ????????????☃❄⛄????????????

Such sweet memories ♄ We had the feeling that you’d love this time of the year for its prettiness everywhere! Hope you’ll give Silent Night a try this year 😉

The 10 days before Christmas were always the best. For me, things slowed down at work. Many ‘long’ lunches with friends and colleagues
.and an epic party or two along the way. That was the time to take a deep breath and absorb the holiday lights, food and music. After the shopping was done there was still Christmas Eve to look forward to (for the adults in the family) and Christmas morning (for the kids). I guess it really was “the most wonderful time of the year”. Thanks to Mona and Lisa and the Advent Calendar for the reminder of all that.

But these days I am with you sun worshipers. I count the days until t-shirt and shorts weather returns. Howard, unlike your warm 52 weeks a year, we only get 6-8 weeks of it. And it’s glorious. Unfortunately we’re now having our traditional 200 days of gray and rain. Bah, humbug!

You’re right, there is something about the “final countdown” that feels extra special. But we’re with you when it comes to preferring a bit of sunshine. If we could go straight from February to July that’d be nice. Those in between seasons are the worst, especially here in England. No wonder everyone here talks about the weather so much, there is a lot to complain about. 😛

Yes I’m more of a summer and fall person but this time of year can be nice as well! The older I get the less I like the cold but I like it here in N.Y. so I have to deal with it!
The most wonderful time of the year for me is any time I can listen to you 2 ladies and watch your videos!

Can’t get enough of your beautiful singing/harmonies and guitar playing, again here in “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year”. Like the Reindeer nails 🙂 Thanks Mona and Lisa.
I wouldn’t say this is my favorite time of the season weather wise, as I prefer the warm evenings, reddish orange sunsets, and sunny clear blue sky days. When I was younger it was about the presents, the nice foods, Christmas trees, lights and all the fun festivities. Lately it’s been about the memories of those times more than anything, but I enjoy the Christmas music that brings back lots of those warm memories and feelings of Christmas’s past. But there is something very peaceful about the Christmas holiday season that I enjoy, having time off work, and spending a few days with family with nice food, and lots of love. That’s the best part of it all..

Debatable, definitely. Has it’s pros and cons. PROS: catching up with family and friends, lots of good cheer, drinking and eating and good music. CONS: Some family and ‘friends’, too much good cheer, drinking and food and too much Xmas music (Not that into Christmas carols myself but you two can always make them special and enjoyable). This time of the year is always over commercialised but I guess it is the festive season that makes a difference between a good year and a bad year for retailers. On that subject, how are the sales going? A pity you couldn’t have your new album ready in time for the Christmas sales!

“There’s sunshine after rain” (which one of you can take credit for that line?), well we are currently experiencing lots of rain at the moment. Too much in fact. We always say our farmers go from drought relief to flood relief!

Looking forward to what’s in the Advent stocking ……. window … door, tomorrow!

This is a beautiful song… I’m Summer Sunshine Woman… Only like Winter for Christmas Day… Then resume back to summertime… Lol… Yes snow is pretty on trees… etc as in scenery of landscapes… Even in an ice storm… Like our Great Ice Storm of 1998 here… I don’t like the cold Temps… The insane wind hills… The freezing rain.. Ice… Snow blizzards… Even dressing up in layers like an Eskimo to keep warm though I may look utterly ridiculous.. I don’t drive so I must dress accordingly????????????⛄☃❄????????????☕????????????❀????????????????????

I don’t know what you’re talking about Jacki. It’s 25 C here at the moment (about 77 F), and that is cool for this time of the year. Brisbane is a humid subtropical climate which experiences an annual mean minimum of 16.6 °C (62 °F) and mean maximum of 26.6 °C (80 °F). Probably a very similar climate to Richard McGlenn’s Florida, except of course it is summer here. I think Florida is one US destination where I’d feel quite comfortable. That and California.

Would also love to visit Canada, but not in winter!

Hi Howard. You have to experience a cup of hot chocolate and steaming chestnuts while walking around in the snow listening to Christmas songs. 🙂

Definitely my favorite time of the year.
I love the bear at your feet. He keeps getting knocked over, but he brushes himself off and gets back up. Heard he tried to escape with the the bird and muff ????
Depending where you are from its an Advent window or door. Both are correct.
One of my favorite Christmas Songs. Your cover makes it that much more special.
Lisa’s Christmas pajama pants and Mona’s fingernails. Rudolph at the very end waving bye.
You both tied up in lights makes me laugh.
Aren’t we all that way when stringing up lights.
Please don’t short circuit yourselves. ????❀????????⛄⛄
