On Becky Want’s Radio Show 2014 – Radio Interview

Opening our first ever Christmas cracker …

… was just one of the highlights that happened on air with Becky Want on BBC Radio Manchester in December 2014.

Becky invited us on her show that Monday before Christmas and we spent the afternoon playing music, learning about British Christmas traditions and listening to her other guests including Luis Troyano, finalist of the British Bake-Off that year. Maybe we should send him some of our Christmas Brownies? 😉

Have a listen to the show!

Winter Wonderland: 01:45
Catch The Wind: 04:40

We uploaded our performance of “Catch The Wind” to YouTube a few days later and cut together some clips of various performances that winter and Christmases from years back – coughs included!

We hope you’ve all stayed cold and cough free this year!

Lots of groovy greetings from us this Wednesday morning,

Mona & Lisa

Well, Christmas is almost up on us and I sure have enjoyed your Advent calendar this year. The videos of your musical, as well as, your culinary performances have been so enjoyable. Although we are an ocean apart I want to wish you both and the entire MLT family “Merry Christmas” and the best “New Year” ever. Love you both.

I love these “live” videos of you performing in small intimate settings. Closest thing to actually being there and interacting with you both. This Advent Calendar is such a joy to start my day with this Christmas season. I can’t thank you enough for sharing so much. I know it is a lot of work on your part but please know how much getting to share in your journey means to me (and the rest of your fans). Both of you are a blessing to everyone you touch. Wishing you every joy possible, Steve.

Great memory for you, and thank you for sharing it with us! Beautiful covers of Winter Wonderland and Catch the Wind (not catch the British bugs – ha! ha! Mona). Love the video with clips of your Christmas Pasts. Such adorable little girls! Now gorgeous young ladies. Merry Christmas to you and your family. Lots of love, Jerry

Awesome Fab… I got Brownie inspired inspired a few days ago and made up a batch of GF ones… Almost all gone… Had my flushot awhile ago…. Trying to be cough free… Flu/cold free… I enjoyed listening to this… Gotta Luv them Xmas Crackers… Even better when I get a Purple Paper Crown in it????????????????????❄️☃️⛄????????????????????????????❤️ Thankyou for uploading to share ????????????☺️????

Such a great song and such a wonderful performance by the two of you. This was a very cute glimpse into your early life as little children which was joyous. The videos that show you at that age (Two of us, Wide Wide Land as well as this one) are so much fun and among my very favorites. I find it so difficult to figure out which one of you is which at that age! That just adds to all of the fun 🙂 it is also wonderful to see Step mum Michaela – what a wonderful family! 🙂

Must also add that it’s an awesome interview by Becky. She sounds like such a genuine, lovely person. Nice of her to promote you like this. she seems to have enjoyed your performance as much as I did! I have often imagined myself playing and singing this Donovan song. Oh well, we can all dream!

One lesson from the video; when it comes to doing the Cracker, never challenge the Wagner ladies, they win every time!

Mona and Lisa, you both just nailed the longing and emotions of this song just so perfectly with your singing as we can all witness in the video how Becky is completely captivated and moved by it. I think where a lot of singers have to modify the song to fit their vocal range and style often losing the feel of the original song, both of you are remarkable at adapting your voices to fit the mood and essence of the song so perfectly. Whether it’s the Stones Paint it Black or Donavan’s Catch the Wind, your performance does the songs great justice, and of course you add your own character to them, making them fresh and unique. Whether its’ the Beatles, Stones, Beach Boys or whomever, loyal fans of these bands, can’t help but love your version just as much or more. That’s why I think your covers just blow everyone away when they hear it. Thanks for posting the radio interview in it’s entirety.

Wonderful Mona and Lisa. One of the first of your YouTube videos I discovered and the first radio show video. Great performance, especially considering you were suffering from the cold. ‘Catch the Wind’ has always been one of my favourite songs and you nailed it! Just a pity you caught more than the wind!
