Two Of Us – Duo Session

Morning, morning lovely peeps!

A while ago we shared the acoustic performance of In It For Love from the Something About The Beatles Podcast. Besides our original song we also played “Two Of Us” during the show and asked Dad to film it so we could later upload it to the MLT Club. Well, today is “later” πŸ™‚ Hope you enjoy this little live session!

You and I have memories,Longer than the road that stretches out ahead …

Have a groovy Friday and see you all tomorrow,

This song always made me sad. I guess like many I take the “you and I have memories” line as about Paul and John and the demise of the Beatles. I’m glad you had some fun at the end to lighten it up.

The Epiphone guitar, some people think, well it’s not a Gibson but the tone and in this particular J-200 is great. I can see why you use it in your mixes.
Groovy and Far Out, Walt Music

Hey, Mona’s Epiphone is her “Baby Mine” guitar. It isn’t the most costly axe, but sometimes a gem is found. Years ago, I bought a “Minstrel” 12-string. It costs $150 and was hand-made in Canada. The sound was (and is) so deep!

Hey Christopher, it definitely is Mona’s Baby Mine guitar and that is so cool because she plays it so well. Her rhythm skills are fantastic. The sound on that guitar is so bright. There is a Minstrel 12 on Reverb right now for $159.00 plus freight. I haven’t had that same guitar that she has but keep playing it Mona, you rock!! Thanks for bringing me in on this, very cool!!!! 20 years ago, I had an Ovation applause that someone gave me, and it sounded so good, but I gave it to someone I was teaching. It just goes to show you it’s all about the sound and action. Christopher, it sounds like you still play the Minstrel. Stay Groovy!!

Walter, thank you for the response! I had an Ovation at one point, and yes, it had a great sound. Later, I traded it in for a “lil’ whippet”, a Fender Montera.

Just starting to returning to playing. Was trained with the Mel Bay (shudder) and Ronnie Lee methods and would strum and howl to the Beatles songbook. Mona and Lisa’s music have inspired me to “get back to where I one belonged”. Been thinking about buying a Telecaster, but now I am leaning towards a Ricky or a Gretsch. Have to see how they all feel; that’s what it is all about.

It is just like baseball (my first love). Always used Wilson gloves over Rawlings. Have to pick what feels right.

You just never know…I had never heard of a Minstrel, but it sounded so full…

Always a visual and audio delight to watch you two play together. Had my 65th Birthday today and will finally retire after 48 years in business. Wish the Covid virus wasn’t putting so many obstacles in the way of how I will be spending my time, but for the time being I will continue to enjoy the music produced by independent musicians I have been supporting for many years as their careers mature while mine winds down. Let’s see how the future goes for us all as we get through this and count our blessings.

It’s hard to add onto what my fellow MLT admirers have said, so I’ll simply say, Wow, this is so very good!! And I love the way that Mona and Lisa look at each other when they’re singing and playing, the way John and Paul used to do, like they’re letting all of us in on a bit of an inside secret that they share. I love it!! : )

Great performance but I miss the babies that were so cute in the first session. I know, nothing stays the same. I will say the babies did turn into very beautiful girls with great voices. Just awaiting the next song now. Don’t keep us waiting too long! ?

The perfect duet guitar playing and vocal harmonies are overwhelmingly heavenly and captivating. Also, both girls are stunningly beautiful – even more than usual – in the video.
Absolutely love it and can’t stop watching it…
God bless the MLT!

Great to see and hear you in acoustics duo. It allows us to identify the voicing that Lisa does on chord changes and play with you.
There are no more enjoyable guitar lessons on youtube.
Thank you MLTs.

Great video! I love this acoustic version! I can listen to it all day, everyday! I especially like hearing, as the video fades to black, Mona saying “Lisa, literally, we are in your bedroom!” LoL. Keep up the great creativity and music, ladies! God Bless you both!

Awwwww… No matter how many times I’ve heard or seen this in video here or the other video… It makes me smile and love singing along with it… Thankyou… I do like Mona’s floral touches on her guitar.. A lovely Fab Friday gift for us all… Thankyou ????????????????????????️????????????????????????????????????❀️

The “Two of You” are absolutely amazing with just you and your guitars! I absolutely love that video and song. Wish I could download that and In It For Love. I love hearing you with just your acoustics! You Two are soooo amazing! Lots of Love!!

As I always comment, your videos never fail to make me smile and brighten my day. The “Two of Us” video is one that not only makes me smile but brings a tear to my eye as well. Over the years Papa Rudi did such an amazing job of capturing certain scenes that fit so snugly into the experience of the songs lyric it is uncanny; as if he was recording those moments with the song playing in his mind . And of course seeing the two of you growing up together is such a treat and reflects the special bond you will always have. One of the things that attracts me and I am sure many of your fans is the tight family relationship the four of you have and that video and song is an true and honest celebration of that special relationship. Oh and by the way it is one of your best covers in my opinion hands down! Bravo! πŸ™‚

Its so nice to see this song live. I just saw the You Tube Video the other day,and can remember most of where the home videos are. I kept expecting you all to laugh any moment. ???? I also looked for “little sister” to push big sister down again????
A Lovely way to wake up this morning. Thanks Ladies

I second that Jung. Always so nice to see and hear these acoustic versions. I also love the other version that gives us a glimpse of their life in one song. Thank you so much for sharing Lisa and Mona. Hope you have a fab Friday too!

Mona, Lisa that is just absolutely lovely! I’m just loving these acoustic videos of just your two voices and 2 guitars. The expressions you make as you sing is just heart warming to watch. Wonderful, spectacular, incredible, just running out of words these days. Thank you for the wonderful music!
