It’s Krampus Night!

The Krampus is coming!

The 5th of December is a scary day for kids in Austria and other Central European countries – the Krampus is on the loose!

It’s the night before the day of St. Nicholas, and the two of them (Krampus & Nikolaus) are out and about to visit children. If you have been naughty then chances are high you will have to face Krampus who is rumoured to kidnap and even beat children!

We remember only too well when Krampus came to our house that dreadful night in 1999. What have we done wrong?! Was is that one time we didn’t finish our plate? Or didn’t brush our teeth?

If you want to read up more about this weird, kinda cool and definitely creepy Austrian tradition click here.

Stay groovy and don’t forget to brush your teeth,

Mona & Lisa

What a mean thing to do to a child (two in the case)! I think we don’t have this tradition in Brazil, only Papai Noel (Santa Claus), Sometimes people even forget the birthday One.

So, the Krampus arrives on my birthday. That explains a lot, actually.
I have been ill and tired since the 5th. I am helping my son move back home and reorganize his life. This requires about hours of driving per day, not including and much fast food, and I am worn out! Two things which have meant a lot to me, and helped keep me going, are this advent calendar and the nice birthday message received from the Twins. Thank you both for this club, and all the work you put into it! Now, to make a nice, healthy Christmas smoothy!

We’re sorry to hear you have been feeling under the weather on top of everything that’s going on – during your birthday of all times! The whole team is sending get-well wishes and we hope you will soon feel better to fully enjoy the Christmas Holidays. <3

Enjoyed watching home video of you two at such a young age, the younger I see you two the more difficult it is to tell you apart, thanks for sharing your memories…

Lol….what a quite memorable experience for the holiday season! That certainly would scare me and keep me up at night…..even today! But I have to admit that my favorite part of the video is seeing how adorable the two of you were back when you were little MLT-ettes! Your fun, happy demeanors were a foreshadow of what you are today! And on another note this Advent calendar is so much fun giving us something to look forward to every day! What a terrific idea! 🙂

Touché Ed! Way too cute. We are so lucky they have such an awesome papa! Their natural sweetness and charm has been given free reign to delight us all.

Wow so adorable and such cute voices when you were both 5. And it looked like you both loved to sing very early on. Now Krampus I think would even scare adults it is so horrendous looking. Looks like Freddy Kruger on a bad day.

Apparently there was a Krampus movie a couple years ago. Did anyone see that? I was looking for another good holiday film to pair up with ‘White Christmas’.

Seriously, this division of labor between Krampus and St. Nicholas just makes good sense. There’s so much ground to cover during the holidays for just one guy (I assume Krampus is a guy…but his/her gender seems undefined). Much more efficient for St. Nick on Christmas Eve. Now we know why Mona and Lisa appear to be such well behaved children….except for that year when Mona got a bag of pine cones from Krampus for knocking her sister to the floor.

Well… That was my new thing that I learned today….Had never heard of this tradition… St. Nicholas yes but not Kreepy Krampus… I’d definitely would brush my teeth after a visit from him.. That is… If he felt I deserved such a visit… Hopefully not????

Krampus came to visit that night because he knew what Lisa had in mind 19 years later on Halloween. To the tune of Time Of The Season. Hmmmmmm. Hahahahaha
I certainly enjoyed the lesson and tradition of Krampus and Nickolaus. Thanks Ladies.
P. S. You both have been extra good this year so there is no need to worry about anything bad.

Always seems to be two sides to a story. Scare them and then give them a treat. Wonder what the real message is!! He’s making a list and checking it twice, going to find out who’s naughty or nice. Good and evil in constant struggle. I’ve always thought that evil exists only in the absence of Love instead of them being two separate things. Choose wisely and always whistle a happy tune while deciding.
