This Boy Is Mine – Live At The Cavern Club

This Boy Is Mine …

Hooray, another original!

When we started playing our weekly Saturday night residency spot at the Cavern Club, we were asked to mainly play cover songs that would fit well within the Cavern atmosphere and history. A lot of people pilgrimage there every year for the Cavern’s rich history in 60’s music, especially the Beatles.

Of course, that wasn’t something we had any objectives to, as that was the music we were playing and loving and focusing on anyway. We played what we really wanted to play and it always worked out fine. πŸ™‚

Because the music we write ourselves is very much in line with that spirit we were always able to put various original songs from our debut album into our setlist each week and no one seemed to mind in the slightest πŸ˜‰ From the ballads to the rock’n’roll tunes to the ukulele songs, it still always fit very well. For this last Cavern Club performance, we mainly stuck to the more up-beat tracks which is why “This Boy Is Mine” made the cut!We hope you like this live performance β™₯

Take care and stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

Im going to have to echo what Rick said. I honestly believe if you have been doing this during the mid to last 60’s, this song and several others Rick mentioned would definitely hit the charts in a huge way. This is one of my very favorite original songs you have written. I can’t wait for the next album release!!!!

I wouldn’t blame the casual Beatles fan in the audience thinking that this is a Beatles tune, it’s just as good as – and fits in perfectly- with any early Beatles song. The licks, harmonies, melodies, and that beat! Simply FAB!

This is a great song and I am playing the rhythm parts with Mona on my guitar, I Figured out the cords and just loving the guitar riffs and lead that Lisa does, it is so awesome I just love it! It does have a Beatle feel to it for sure, great job ladies and thanks for sharing.

Your originals is what makes the set perfect. This Boy Is Mine sounds great with those rock and roll guitar sounds and fits right in there with all those 60s classics. I love your song writing. While I discovered you through the covers, it’s your originals that captivated me and led me to discover you more. They’re the best!

What a great song, I love the blending of your voices, there is something special about sibling singing together, it reminds me what the Beach Boys so special at least their earlier stuff. You girls are so special you capture that wonderful era even your original songs. Thanks for sharing and making this so special. Love the new cd. Peace and love. Jerry from upstate New York. God bless

Well, first I love the song! Second, I love the venue. Third, I love the MonaLisa Twins. Fourth, I loved the performance. Fifth…
I could count to a million and still overlook something. Y’all really rocked another song with a performance that I loved and enjoyed more than my limited vocabulary and writing skills allow me to express. Great performance of a fantastic song in the World’s most famous club, the Cavern, by my favorite band; The MonaLisa Twins! Groovy ????❀

WoooooHoooooo…totally #MLTBuzzLuvGroovified going on here…this kicked a** quite rock n rollingingly fab… Thoroughly enjoyed watching, singing along ….. it shook the Cavern walls with awesome amplification that eminated and resonated…Great way to start off a weekend, Tgankyiu for sharing this…???? !!

You be made my weekend once again. I love this song. You ladies get better each and every time this is one of my favourite tracks on the live at the cavern club Album well done. Lisa your guitar playing is superb.

I just can’t get enough of watching you play, whether its seeing you perform on stage or doing a live duo session together…its pure magic. Witnessing the excitement, the fun, the sincerity, along with the super tight rhythm, harmony and arrangement adds a dimension that is nothing short of exhilarating. Really looking forward to seeing what you two have up your sleeves for this years’ Advent Calendar! Big hugs.

OMG!! This is Fabulous!! I know your official video for the song is done live, but this performance really has you jumping in your seat! You can tell how much you enjoyed amazing this original song, a Golden Kayak Award Winner too.
You ladies never cease to amaze, and this time I am absolutely floored! ????????????????????????????.
Well done ladies

I can imagine there were dudes in the audience going oh yeah, I know this song. It came out from a different group right before the Beatles hit it big. I’ve heard it hundreds of times.

I know it’s been said already, but where did you hide your time machine? You sound like you jumped out of the sixties era, but better. You have have really captured that sound and made some really great records. I really don’t say really that much, really.

The Cavern vids are awesome. I am looking forward to watching them all in sequence from beginning to end.

I hope you’re doing kool, really,

JP

I find this song to be the most Beatley of all the MLT originals so far. It would have fit in perfectly on the Hard Day’s Night soundtrack, so I can see how a live audience who was there primarily for 60’s covers would still love it.

Just to nitpick, I think you meant to say “objections” rather than “objectives”.

You girls were just 30 years too late for being β€œhit” makers with your own material….This Boy Is Mine…June…When We’re Together….One More Time….could have all been chart toppers…you’ve heard the expression β€œwhat goes around comes around β€œ….keep doing your thing…the day will come when the MonaLisa Twins rule ❀️❀️❀️❀️
