Chord Sheets and Poll Result

Hi and welcome to the first “regular” Tuesday post …

… since the Advent Calendar has ended! What a month it’s been, aye?

To all those of you that took part in the daily challenges – please make sure you check your inbox! On Sunday we sent out all info regarding the prizes in an email. To the 32 members that got over 180 points and those of you who have ordered the 2021 wall calendar through the webstore – your parcels already got sent out and are now on their way to you! 🙂

We’ll talk about it some more on Friday with a final post of the year but today we want to tie off a few more loose ends from the last few weeks.

1. Have we settled the age-old question?

On Day 21 we asked you all: Raisins or No Raisins

The question has always been splitting our family in half with Dad and Lisa disliking them, and Michaela and Mona loving them. We asked you guys for help and these are the results:

Well … We guess that settles that! From now on, all our bakes that are supposed to have raisins in them, will have raisins in them! Dad and Lisa will have to pick them out afterwards! … Now the only problem will be to convince Lisa of that fact. She has lost fair and square but we still might run into problems as she is usually the one baking the cakes. 😉

2. “All I Want Christmas To Be” – Chord Sheet

Those of you who have won the “Digital Christmas Pack” will have already seen this as part of the zip file but we want to upload it here to the Club too so you can easily find it at any time.

After quite a few of you have asked for it, we created a chord sheet for “All I Want Christmas To Be” which we just added to the “Lyrics & Chords” section here at the club. It might not come in handy for another 11 months at this point but at least you’ll now have plenty of time to prepare for your next Christmas jam session. 😉

3. To all those of you who are new here

Quite a lot of you have joined us here at the MLT Club in the last few weeks which we are very grateful for 🙂 Welcome!
We thought we’d very quickly explain how our regular upload schedule is here at the Club now that the Advent Calendar and daily posts are over.

We will be posting (at least) twice weekly with one “smaller” post on Tuesday and one “main” post on Friday.

Tuesday posts often consist of photo uploadspollsradio interviews and updates from the archives while on Friday we often share new music or a video with you – Duo SessionsLive at the Cavern Club videoRandom VlogsQ&As etc.

We’ll always summarise each week’s posts in a Newsletter titled “The MLT Club Wire” on Fridays.

You can find an overview of all past emails on the MLT Club Wire Archive Page.

4. Forum Updates

Lastly, we wanted to address that with everything that was happening here in the Club this month, we had to cut back quite a lot on the time we could devote to answering questions in the “Ask The MonaLisaTwins” Forum and being active there.

We will catch up on all of that in the week ahead so if you asked a question there that has not yet been answered by us – we’ll get on that soon! 🙂

We warmly invite everyone to join the many conversations that are going on in the different forums. We love seeing you all connect there and get to know each other. If you’ve never posted there, the “Introduce Yourself” Forum is a great place to start.

We’ll see you all on Friday!

Until then, stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

Well sanity reigns and the Raisins Have It, the Raisins Have It, to paraphrase the Speaker of the House of Commons.

I received my calendar on Wednesday, thank you. They don’t mess about with getting things done do they! I’ve now got to find somewhere grand enough to hang it.

I trust that everyone is enjoying the start of 2021. 2020 didn’t end too badly as my 88yo mother received her first vaccination on Wednesday so we may be able to go and see her soon. However, from the predictor I am not likely to receive one until the first half of May. Of course, that is if everything goes to plan with the distribution of them.

Great surprise in the post today! Received my prize signed MLT calendar and it is fantastic! Thank you so much Mona & Lisa. Taking pride of place on my office wall today! Love to you both and ‘stay groovy’!

I couldn’t help but laugh at the comment at the end of the raisin vs no raisin blog “…we still might run into problems as she is usually the one baking the cakes.” Ya think so!?? I can’t help but remember the little sign my mom had in our kitchen growing up. It read: “There are two choices for dinner; Take it OR Leave it”.

OMG – Just received my signed Advent Calendar prize in the post and it is brilliant. So much more than I was expecting and now every 1st of the month will be a new joy as I turn it over. Thank you for all your music and posts – especially through these current hard times for people. Love and Stay Groovy. X

I’m really surprised by the poll results, given the strong anti-raisin sentiment expressed in the comments. I guess it was just a passionate and vocal minority. But thank goodness we live in a world where no one can tell us what to do in the privacy of our own kitchens.

I am totally on the fence with raisins. I do not mind, or really notice them in cookies, but to eat them alone, aah no. I think someone else mentioned the little boxes of Sunmaid Raisins we were given as children. I remember we had a neighbor who gave them out for Halloween. What were they thinking?

But I must side with the baker. If that is how the baker bakes, then that’s that. If you want them made a different way….

With an even divide amongst the family, I thought the pole would have been a more even split.

JP is groovy in the Cats-kill Mountains

I’ve commented on this before, but it can’t be overstated how much I, and I’m sure others, enjoyed participating in the Advent challenges! Your huge ???? clearly showed through in the clever “tasks” you devised for us. I couldn’t wait to ✔️ to see what each new day’s “chore” would be. The joy they stoked in my ❤️ translated into my other Christmas prep, and I enjoyed the most blessed Christmas day with my family in memory. You are truly inspirational! And of course, the livestream….PERFECT!
