If You Raise Your Head – New Video

A new music video is here!

“If You Raise Your Head” was penned during the second wave of lockdowns and is available on our album WHY? which came out a couple of months ago.

We love shooting these type of “studio videos” from time to time as they capture some of the reasons we love working in the recording studio so much. Our album “WHY?” was played, recorded and written by us and Papa Rudi and we’re beyond proud of how it turned out. It shows you that you don’t need a huge team to create something worthwhile.

It’s the first time we have ever used a talk box on a recording. That’s the “tube thing” Lisa is using while playing her guitar solo. For those not familiar with a talk box, what’s happening here is that the sound of the guitar gets directed into Lisa’s mouth through a plastic tube where she can alter the way it resonates and therefore sounds by changing the shape of her mouth. The microphone then picks it up from there. You don’t see talk boxes around much anymore but we felt it fit the sound we were going for perfectly.

It’s also the first time we ever featured a Hammond rock organ sound so prominently in a song.

We hope you enjoy this studio video!

Signed Studio Scribbles Available!

We put together these “Studio Scribbles” for all the songs off our new album that got music videos so far. So of course, we had to make one for “If You Raise Your Head”, too 🙂

These lyric art prints are signed and numbered by the both of us. They are limited to 100 prints, and the sooner you order the lower the serial number.

We’ll see you all with new music and more videos soon!

If you want to hear new releases earlier, get your ordered albums signed, gain access to a ton more exclusive videos, pics and music, join the forum and MLT Club community, ask us questions, … all while supporting our music, don’t forget to check out the MLT Club!

We hope you had a great weekend and will catch you all in the next newsletter, over at the MLT Club or on social media.

Stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

Why? is brilliant. Y’all are brilliant (and cuter than a speckled pup). Questionable is beyond brilliant. I feel like a subversive listening to Why? Thank you for your wonderful music.

Love it! Nice Hammond playing by your Dad too (I play piano and Hammond so I should know!) One thing though: I heard many years ago that too much use of a voice box caused a rock star (possibly Johhny Winter?) to lose many of his teeth. No idea if that’s true but maybe worth investigating?

Hello, I’m from Denver Colorado, and I was driving today listening to the “progressive rock” station and I was getting very bored with all the layered music with so much synthesizers, and REVOLVER popped into my mind, and when I got home I immediately started listening to you beautiful creators of great rock! Thank you, Randy

Sounds great. I love the style you play as it reminds me of time when music was good!

Great song and video. The only problem is that Lisa’s pretty face is distorted by that talk box.

Just great ….as always. I love to see you in the studio. Great number too.

Great song. We seldom get to see Mona playing the drums, and I could watch her on those all day.

Makes me want to drag out my bell bottoms and dayglo paisley shirt and hit the scene down at the local go go club

Once again you have nailed the 60’s vibe in a fun and entertaining way!! Very good work on the solo stuff too, not too long or overdone…Love your style ♥️♥️♥️

“A jumpin’ little record I want my jockey to play” . . . happy Monday!

You do great covers and most can’t do that but I love originals…Great job…

I really enjoy the poignancy, sincerity, and sense of play in y’all’s music, always eager to hear more!

what a fantastic song, brilliant vocals, love everything about the song absolutely BRILLIANT thank you for making my day again by two FANTASTIC singers and musicians

Wonderful song and I love the solo. You two are getting better…BETTER b-e-t-t-e-r. Getting better all the time.

If i heard this first on the air i would ve said this was a Beatles composition. You both have exceptional musical skills and ability good on you.

Loved it! Sort of a more up beat tepo. Great guitar and drums ladies. I want to see a CD made..

Love it! I raise my head to you! It is clear to see that your musical ideas and directions are progressing, and Papa Rudi was very instrumental in the overall sound. Pun not intended! – Well maybe a little bit! It is sort of reminiscent of something 60s-ish, but I can’t place what. It is clearly your own sound.

I am intrigued to see Lisa employing some the the guitar playing techniques of Eric Clapton and the late Jeff Beck, in manipulating the strings on the neck.

Lots of love to you all, and keep up the great work. If you find a reason to visit Canada, be sure to let me know! It might be worth a visit to Chicago too sometime. It is a hotbed of great but lesser known musicians, who I would love to introduce you to!

Honestly, if someone who’d never experienced MLT wanted a sample of your original work, I think I would show him/her this video. In addition to the song and lyrics, it does a wonderful job of showing you and your supporting talent (this would be the keyboard artist, papa Rudi!) from many different aspects. This song has really “grown on me” the more I’ve listened to it! I’m so glad I bought “WHY?”!!

There’s a progression here that reminds me of the creativity so rampant in the late 60’s and early 70’s. Your music is still you but subtly evolving. The video shows an ease and enjoyment that is contagious. I loved it.

I must say, that these 2 beautiful Austrian little ladies were just kids when they sang the Beatles music. I remember when they sang by the Golden gate bridge, singing ” If you go to San Francisco, by Scott Mckenzie and that was very beautiful. They have come a long way now, and are now singing and creating their own music. Mona and Lisa, you are both very beautiful and very talented and you both will go very far, like Heart. You both are very super. I am just Stanley, OK.

OMG! This takes me back to the 1960s San Francisco scene. You absolutely nailed it! Percussion, baselines, Wah-wah lead guitar, lyrics, piano/organ, melody. This is a total hit in my book! I absolutely love it!

I love the song. This is one of your best You both are very talented. I love watching you play different instruments. Well done!!

love your youtube videos. It is great that you original music of your own. Thanks for the hours of entertainment, and yes I have a couple of your CD’s. Please keep releasing new music.

Wonderful song great beat and video, the organ playing was fantastic and the drum playing
was marvelous with incredible bass, lead guitar and rhythm guitar, and the singing was over the top with a brilliant sound. Your have exceptional talent.
Lou, One of your biggest fans.

Well done.Great production, strong harmonies. Really entertaining with all the video switches. Really enjoy your videos.

Tell me you will continue to create and entertain instead of being glued to a smart phone. You are extraordinaire.

This song is an example on how groovy you need to perform on the varieties of summer open airs in Germany and elsewhere, since the sunny dancing under the summer sky makes life – especially through (your) music – extremly worthy and long lasting (individually and collectively).
With love and respect,
Thomas

Brilliant music, bought from you earlier. But the videos are too much MTV cut cut cut cut cut caucaphony. I would have liked to see the solo in one steady shot. I don’t have Attention Deficit Syndrome 😁

A brilliant song off the album “WHY?” masterpiece, the singing & musicianship is stunning, and the song is so full of depth, color and meaning. Something only truly inspired artists can create. The drumming, guitar work, bass, keyboard, vocals/harmonies are phenomenal. The video captures your passion and amazing musicianship so perfectly. Genius, love it! ✨🎶🧡

Simply way too cool for school! The “talk box” adds a nice hook to a bitchin’, hard-driving “road record”. Putting this in the YouTube Playlist, for sure, along with “Club 27” (another favorite).

Love love love this track!! Fabulous backing and very Beatlesque!!! Thank you !!

Excellent! The tempo as well as the lyrics are definitely echoing in my ears.

I love the song and the music as well – it has a 70’s vibe to it !! Love it!!

Awesome! So much in line to current times – especially from those who do not raise theirs/look to see!

I love your originals most of all, and I applaud what I think is your first “protest song.”
Even though that’s what it sounds like to me, it’s musical, melodious ,and gentle.
LOVE IT!

Well…. you gotta say it is pretty counter cultural to say, if you raise your head, you don’t bend the knee!!! Love it, and love the organ meister’s elbow roll!!!

You’re growing better and better, and listening to your music is still a source of joy ! Hold on ! 👍

Y’all knocked it out of the park again…can defintely hear your influences but it’s truly distinctive original art!

Very tasteful use of the talk-box on the guitar solo! Many over-use that effect for the sake of the novelty of the effect. You used it perfectly within the context of the song.

OMG, this is so much fun! Amazing, as always. Thanks for always lifting my spirits! <3

Catchy tune, love the lyrics! I know a lot of people (including me!) that could benefit from this advice 🤗…

Love the track! The organ work is excellent, and I love the message as well. Although I do think putting a Gretsch through one of those voice box things is a crime!

You gals are totally stupendous! I am enjoying each and every post. Totally “Hip” and “Groovy”!

A definite Beatles vibe for the first part, but that guitar break really took it off into another tangent. The ending brought it all back home. Another tuneful MLT original.

Brilliant funky beat mix with drums and bongos and I love the upbeat message in the lyrics! Debbie in Canada

This is really really good even by your own standards. – really good mixture of chords – and what a fabulous riff – and great video very much with “shared singing” between you 👍🏻 which is what we all like – I really love Mona’s slightly deeper tones – complemented by Lisa’s more Soprano voice. This song is so so appropriate to todays difficult world situations – it is superb – it moves along but it is so relaxed also and you both seem so much to be at one with the lyrics and such a good musical varied composition – this is and will become – even more of a classic I’m certain ? Ken.

In a word…Superbincrednificentastic!!!! Very well done and great to see Rudy involved. How he still looks like yesteryear is amazing. Twins you’ve never looked or sounded as beautiful and well rested. Bravo!!🇺🇸🌹♥️

Oh, this is absolutely top-notch, as always. ‘Why’ is my top play in the car since it was released. It sits alongside Sgt Pepper in the rack. This track is moody, bluesy, gutsy with some great earwormy phrasing and catchy instrumentals. Thanks, ladies and Rudi for the professionalism and skill…
