Jung, you have outdone yourself. This is a fascinating post!

The whole concept of handwriting and signatures is so cool. The only thing that I write in cursive these days is my signature…but it is a good signature. I followed in my Dad’s footsteps and became a Business Education Teacher after spending five years as an Accountant. Back in the day, Penmanship was a course that was taught by Business Educators and Dad was very proud of his handwriting. He insisted that I learned a proper, readable signature. As he would say, “who is going to hire you if you cannot even write your name properly?” I agreed with him 100%…still do. It is a constant battle with today’s high school students when we go over Cover Letters in my Careers and Financial Management (CFM) course.

Over the years, I have both seen and received autographs from Big League baseball/hockey players and some authors. It is not a big thing for me, because I would rather just say “hello” and congratulate them on their accomplishments, but an autograph on a book or on a game-worn piece of equipment is nice. Some are clean signatures (Dick Beddoes and Wayne Gretzky…greatest hockey player ever; some are clean with perhaps a drawing (Dirk Hayhurst always draws a “Garfoose” next to his name); and others are merely abbreviations (Bo Bichette uses a stylized “BB”). Some want to make them unique to prevent forgeries (Pete Rose, at one time, had a group of employees who had his signature down pat).

Going to read the analysis material in earnest…it will be interesting to see what I can figure out about some of those signatures.

Thanks again for the great post!

Canada is blessed with lots of unique, special, and awesome musical artists…Holly Cole, Serena Ryder, Luba, Jann Arden, and today, with the rise of Jaden Rylee. Simply outstanding!

I have always thought that Canada should be the next destination of MLT. There are many indie stations and the CBC is a public corporation that supports the “non-mainstream” in its programming. Finally, since Mona and Lisa are residing in the Commonwealth, there may be an initial awareness of their music. It just seems to be a logical next step.

  • Thank you Jacki. Livestream was fun and I am sure it was a big part of our Christmas season. Thank you for all that you do here and on your Facebook site.

  • The new features on the MLT site are great. Love the bio section. Enjoyed filling it out. I think a few other did and hopefully more of the members will utilize it. We have a wide range of fans from all over and it is great to read about the unique backgrounds and experiences of the members!

Thank you, Papa Rudi, for integrating the new features and best wishes to Team MLT in all endeavors!

Now how about a playlist? The choices would be theirs, of course, but my fantasy concert would be MLT performing a few of these songs:

    1. In It for Love

    2. Two of Us (I always consider it their signature song)

    3. Sweet Lorraine

    4. Here Comes the Sun

    5. Vincent (if Mona takes her accordion overseas)

    6. She’s Leaving Home

    7. Close to You

    8. Count on Me

    9. June

    10. I Don’t Know Birds That Well

    11. Won’t You Listen Now

    12. Please Please Me

    13. I Will

    14. I’m Yours

Wow, I was only going to list a half-dozen songs…got carried away.

Sorry for all the “font stuff” that came out in my previous reply. When I posted my message, they came up. Even with editing, they will not go away.

Two of my favorite musical artists are Lawrence Gowan and Rush. Have seen them in concert several times. Met Gowan on a couple of occasions and he is a great guy; very modest, yet friendly at the same time. Years ago, one of my Teachers College classmates told me that he a good friend of his. He said that he is a great guy to hang with!

<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”>I also had the </font>privilege<font color=”rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)” face=”inherit”> of sitting next to Geddy Lee from Rush at a Toronto Blue Jays game. He also had the same qualities. Also, Lee really knows his baseball. He keeps score during the game using his trusty Cooper scorebook. How Canadian is that, as Cooper is a leading brand of Canadian sporting equipment. I could see why he used it, the format of the book is excellent.</font>

But I digress from the question. I have always thought that Canada would be an ideal place for Mona and Lisa to expand their fan base. There are some Indie stations in Toronto and it is the headquarters for the CBC as well. My fantasy concert would be the MonaLisa Twins performing at the Glenn Gould Studio at the CBC building in Toronto. It would be in a Duo Session format, it would be an afternoon performance, and it would be awesome. Afterwards, I would go to a Toronto Blue Jays game that evening (I live in the U.S., about 2 hours from “Tronna”). What a doubleheader would that be!

    One can always wish!

Thank you Rudi for your quick response. And keep slapping that bass. Your bass lines in “Make Show” were outstanding!

Mona and Lisa must be a joy to work with. Their love of music and family are evident in all their endeavors!
