The Duo Sessions II – Photos

During the filming of our Duo Sessions, we also always try to take a few photos during and after wrapping up the shoot. Now, that we have posted all the videos off our second Duo Session album, we want to share the remaining pictures! You can watch the first set of pictures here.

The “2nd Season” of Duo Sessions was a joy to film! Playing one of the songs with Dad was probably the highlight ♥

If you want to see all videos in one place, just click here. To get the CD, click here.

We are currently working on the next set of Duo Sessions and are looking forward to sharing the first one with you soon!!

Stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  1. What a fantastic batch of pictures! They are impeccable and funny and caring and goofy and heartwarming. It’s so easy to feel we were just there in the room sharing a laugh and a chat over a ‘cuppa‘.
There’s a picture of Rudolf that he looks a lot like Leonard Nimoy! And those boots have done some walking, but they have plenty of walking still left in them 😊

  2. You guys are so photogenic, and the pictures are of such quality; have thought of either publishing them as a photo-book or making a montage, and include them inside the sleeve of your next album. Just a thought. Peace be

  3. As I’m sitting here eating breakfast… I’m looking at my MonaLisaTwins calendar! Which, by the way, starts on Monday like most of the world does…except the United States!🤔 and I noticed it’s your 10th anniversary of moving to Liverpool! Congratulations! I’m sure it has been a good move. It certainly sounds like it! 🤙🤓🎶

  4. When I’m in my car… I almost always listen to Beatles channel Sirius XM. This morning I heard Paul McCartney sing his song “Junk” ….good song! It really wasn’t one that I thought was a great song…. until I’m sitting at home watching Mona and Lisa sing “Junk”! Their dresses, their hair, their demeanor….. what a beautiful song! We should have some pictures from that duo session! It’s probably not fair! I only just listened to Paul…. I got to watch Mona and Lisa. Certainly not fair!🤓

  5. Such beautiful and wonderful pictures! It is impossible for you 2 to ever take a bad photo, I’m positive of that! Papa Rudi looking dapper as well with that bass!

  6. I know this is changing the subject! I heard on the Beatles channel today, that the Beatles song “I Will” the bass that you hear in the background is Paul McCartney’s voice… no bass guitar. 🤔🤓

    1. Tim,

I just listened to “I Will,” and by golly, that IS Paul singing the Bass part, with “Du, du-du-du!” I never noticed that before! The “White Album” is one of my favorites, because I love all their acoustic songs! Of course it opens with “Back in the USSR,” but there are so many great songs on that double album!

Thanks for the tip-off! — Bud

      1. Bud….There’s a show on SiriusXM channel 18… I’m pretty sure it’s called Magical Mystery Tour… Randy Bachman, formally from Bachman Turner Overdrive and his son Tal go into depth about Beatles music.. from how ahead of time Ringo’s drumming was… and of course, their last show was about Paul playing the bass….or not?! Great show. I would think a music teacher like you would really enjoy that?! I certainly do! I believe it’s on Sunday mornings!!🤓🎶

      2. Hi Tim!

Thanks for the suggestion! That would be something right up my alley! I’ll have to google it & figure out how to tune in. Right now, I need to sit down and do grades for over 200 students!

        Thanks! — Bud

  7. Can’t get enough of this! Hope there is no law in the UK against having too much fun or we will have to come and bail you all out of jail. Thanks so much for sharing!

  8. Such lovely pictures. Whoever invented the camera had you two in mind. But some of the best pics are with your Papa; you seem to enjoy that so much. Thanks.

  9. Mona, Lisa & Papa Rudi,

I LOVE your new pictures, & all of your pictures & videos! Especially the funny ones!
Keep it up, you are all much appreciated! (Michaela too!)

    — Bud

  10. Really nice pics… what triggers me most on your photography is the way you look at each other, it shows how much you love and respect one another…… if all the people were so fond of each other……… this would be the best place………

  11. These are really stunning studio photos.
I am sure you will bring beautiful music again in the next set of duo sessions.

  12. Some great pictures in this set, you have such a fun time with these sessions. Do you always get them right the first time, or do you sometimes have to restart due a mistake?

  13. Wow!! Great pics! Nothing like seeing those Beautiful Smiling Faces to get the weekend off to a Fab start.Love the pics with Papa Rudi, the love(pride in Papa Rudi’s eyes) you all have for each other just jumps off my screen.Been playing Duo Sessions II in my car, into and home from work each day since it arrived. Can’t wait to hear the new ones you have in store for us all. Thanks for always being a bright spot in this crazy world we live in.

    Love & Hugs 💛 💓

    Tom

p.s. I see your little Alien made the pics..but what about Lampi Bampi??

  14. Wow, these are kool. We are watching them on the big screen with Duo Sessions II playing. Our internet lags sometimes and right now the pictures are fading into each other creating a momentary double image. When a Mona shot fades into the next Mona shot, ther are Two Monas. Wait, that’s nothing new. Okay, the same thing goes for Lisa. Man, that is a lot of hair.

Now it’s stuck on two BIG pedals with a spiraling 🌀 right over the dial on the lower pedal. What are the chances of that? I can hear Lisa now in her best PeeWee Herman voice,”Hmph, meant to do that!” Do BIG pedals go up to eleven, or is ten just bigger.

We like to point out when we catch a glimpse of Rudi or Michaela gushing with pride as they watch their “kids” perform. We have been noticing moments during Teach Your Children where Lisa and Mona are watching Rudi with the same look in their eyes.

The candid shots are really cute. Lisa is such a ham. Mona’s blowing hair is kool. Was that a fan or perfect timing?

TGIF! Let’s make it a great weekend.

    Love,

    Marlo & JP

    1. Johnnypee, with all these photo albums I like to hit the little play arrow to play a slideshow and play some MLT music in the background. I usually just play the Jukebox because it doesn’t matter what song is playing, they all sound good with the photos.

  15. Wow ! Beautiful photographs ! Glad to see your Dad in the pictures also.
Now of course you can relive all these great times years from now.
Many of these pictures absolutely stunning !
Hats off to Michaela for her outstanding work !

  16. Mona and Lisa, wow great photo’s! It makes all of us smile with a good feeling in our hearts and soul to see you both smiling and having fun! Great photos of Pa Rudi with you both! Very touching and sweet. We just love sharing this time with you both even thru the club and hopes of one day we all can see you all in person. Thank you for sharing and kicking our weekend off to a great start. God bless you both and can’t wait till next Friday.
Love and hugs from Bill and Maddie Isenberg Still and always huge fans from Pittsburgh PA USA.

      1. Lisa, I posted that me and my wife just came back from a vacation in Las Vegas, and I wore my Mona and Lisa Hoodie, and people came up to me asking who are the Mona Lisa Twins?? So, with a big smile I said go to the grooviest place on the internet to find out! And hope we get more club members!!!

      2. Hi Bill,
The same thing happens to me when I wear my MLT shirts, hoodie or hat. Love sharing their music with everyone. All the best to you and Maddie(and the rest of the family too!)

  17. I can’t remember which one of you is older….. but I can see that God was so pleased with what he had done…. He made a duplicate! My goodness! 🤓

      1. Lisa… I should’ve known that! And I certainly don’t claim to know what God was thinking…. but this might’ve gone through his mind just for an instant. “Triplets??… Nah… that would just be showing off!” God only knows!?🎶🤓

      1. Yes Bill…In my human opinion… I agree totally with you!

        Words of Wisdom

        Michel J Fox

  18. I’ve commented in the past about the high quality of MLT photography, and here we have more of it. I was wondering if these are shot with the light being used for videography or if you need to alter or augment it with strobes for the still shots?

    1. We usually don’t put up any additional lights when we take photos. It’s the same set-up we use for the videos 🙂 Thanks, I’m glad you like them!!

  19. The Duo Sessions are my favorite. It gives us the chance to both listen and to watch your outstanding musicianship in a simple setting. My favorite pics are the ones with your Journey guitars (you really made those little travel instruments wail) and, of course, the ones with Papa Rudi.

Now that we have began high school baseball season, the songs from the Orange album are a daily passenger with me to the ballpark. Listening to “No More Worries Company” as I back out of the driveway, “Close to You” as I pass the high school, and “That’s Life” as I pull into the field is an everyday occurrence which always makes me smile.

Next goal…getting “Make Show” and “If You Raise Your Head” from WHY? into our batting practice music playlist.

  20. Love the Duo Sessions and I love all the pictures. You two are so photogenic. Love the pics with Papa Rudi, I assume Michaela is the photographer, thank you Michaela.

      1. You all look so happy when you are working, except the little alien, he doesn’t looked too enthused.

  21. Absolutely lovely photo’s, they certainly put a smile on my face. I think my fav photo is of the 3 of you with Papa Rudi with his arms around you both (no guitars)- what a proud dad! It should be framed and put up in your hallway- Well done Michaela for taking such a great Photo.

  22. I love the photos and you both👱‍♀️👩‍🦰 look really happy😊 and beautiful in all of them. I don’t remember seeing a Duo Session video with you playing the two matching bass and 6 string composite guitars🎸. Can you guide me to a video with you playing these guitars?

  23. Thank you so much for the amazing pics, and also for the promise of more upcoming Duo Sessions! There are so many poster-worthy or calendar-worthy examples here! I love seeing you alternately goofing around and posing beautifully, and the pics of Rudi are the best we’ve seen yet! My heart is happier after seeing the ones featuring the three of you, and the love between you shows plainly in your eyes and smiles! Bless you four for this gift!

  24. Really great photo – Thanks for sharing. Your mood is contagious – A nice happy way to start a weekend😊
And Lisa – Thanks for the support last Friday – I’m on the move… I am practicing…😅

  25. Well, I’m certainly ready for Duo Sessions season 3! As always, it’s awesome to get a behind the scenes look at the creation of all these fantastic videos. As a bonus, the link to the Duo Sessions section of the Club reminded me of the early sessions that didn’t make it to YouTube. Wouldn’t it be nice to see them filmed and posted in the future? (Yes, it would. 😉)

  26. The enjoyment of what you are doing even comes through in the photos. Thank you for the Friday smiles and as always a lovely start to the weekend. 🙂

  27. Thank you for sharing all these beautiful photos, it is so special to be able to share in these moments of your music creation, certainly the finest music being created today bar none. The beautiful bond between the three of you is so heartwarming. Everything you do is so amazing and beautiful, your music, your love for each other, your kindness to your fans sharing so much of your music journey with us, and your radiating smiles. The little green alien always makes me laugh! 😊💕

  28. #MLTBuzzLuvGroovified Bonafide #KodakKeeperGems of the Duo Sessions ll , beautifully captured of the Essences of each song that was performed, how the clothing continued to inspire, tell the story of each song, interweaving the flow, and you know how to pick ’em in the style, colors, patterns to compliment and visually extend, Thankyou for sharing, made my Waking Up to and with , including the warmth of sunshine beaming through my bedroom window, Eminate and elevate the smile to my face even more …. 29. Thanks for sharing. I know there is a lot of work involved but it looks like a lot of fun is there. Makes me want to be there with all of you.

  30. What a photogenic family! I’m assuming that Michaela was the photographer – superb job! It was fun to identify which song each photo documented by Mona and Lisa’s outfits.
