“The Duo Sessions II” Album Release Date: November 5
Over the last few weeks, we filmed/recorded a new batch of Duo Sessions which means we have enough for a new album! We even wrote a brand-new song for it which we’ll also perform during the Livestream on Sunday!

The Duo Sessions … We are so happy with the reception the album has received in and outside the MLT Club! What we thought was going to be more of a smaller release turned into our bestselling album yet … who would have thought that 🙂
We can also attribute this to the fact that our MLT family is growing exponentially on every front, so with each release more and more people take notice. More people are tuning in on YouTube, more people are joining our mailing list, more people become members of our cozy Club. We are over the moon and so proud of you all! Thank you for being a part of it ♥

The 15 songs on this album are all intimate, mostly acoustic versions of some of our and your favourite covers and original songs. Just the two of us (usually with two guitars) in front of a couple of microphones without fancy studio production. If we go by your feedback, you’ve been really enjoying these more stripped-back arrangements ? And we love doing them!
We initially recorded all of the songs on the new album, including “It Ain’t Me Babe”, for the MLT Club. It’s our own cosy corner of the Internet where we are sharing a more personal side of our work and LOTS of extra content and music.
We haven’t teased this album project very much so this is probably coming out of the blue for most of you. We’ve been recording these Duo Sessions for the MLT Club for a while now, and since we began to stack up quite a nice amount of them we decided to give them a proper home and release them on their own album.We mixed originals and various 60’s covers, some from artists that we have never covered before (like Joni Mitchell or The Who).

Surprise Announcement!! In less than two weeks we are releasing a new album: The Duo SessionsIt’s a compilation record of all the Duo Session recordings we have put out in the MLT Club over the last months, plus a few new ones!
We just set up the pre-sale for MLT Club members exclusively so all members can order a signed copy now. We’ll ship out all pre-orders as soon as the CDs arrive from the pressing plant which should be any day now.

But with every Duo Session we released we had more people asking where they could purchase or download these songs. So, we decided to package all the songs up neatly and give them a home by putting them on their own album.
For this CD we have combined 15 Duo Session recordings, 11 of which you already know from the Duo Sessions Section here at the MLT Club and 4 new ones that will see the light of day in video-form in the months ahead.

Since we had all these recordings ready we thought it would be a waste not to make them available for those that would like to take the music outside of the MLT Club.
Of course we will continue to make more of them as time goes on! This CD is a collection of the first set of 15 … but we have already brainstormed ideas for Vol. 2 and 3. 😉
The cover art is drawn by Lisa with some small Mona-additions. We’ll show you the creative process of it in an upcoming video.

We’ve been into Pink Floyd since our teenage years. We even went to see Roger Water’s “The Wall” tour back in 2013 and left the stadium mesmerised and floating on a natural high.
Yet we have never covered one of their songs.
We sure learned the solo parts for “Another Brick In The Wall” and worked hard on the smooth bends and fluent runs, but most of their songs didn’t lend themselves too well to be covered by 2 guitarists or a 4 piece rock ‘n’ roll band.
But then there’s “Wish You Were Here”.
A song with a purported backstory so sad that it’s hard not to get emotional when reading up on it. A tragic masterpiece, partially inspired by their lost band member Syd Barrett (or at least open to interpretation).
We thought it would be a great choice for a Duo Session …

Duo Sessions – they are fun to do, fun to film and fun to share.
We agree on some songs we want to do, arrange them for two guitars and vocals and then get together with Papa Rudi in our little corner set-up of the studio and turn on the cameras. Here are some pictures from the ones we did in 2019. Which one was your favourite?

This time we are playing our song “All About Falling In Love”. We initially filmed it for the monthly “Duo Session” series over at the MLT Club.
It’s a tune we have only rarely performed as just the two of us but one that actually lends itself really well to a stripped-back setup – just two guitars, two voices.It’s off our debut album “When We’re Together” which came out in 2012.
It feels great to visit these songs from time to time. Rediscovering your own work in a way. The lyrics don’t change, the chords don’t change but with each passing year it feels like your own stories and life experience add depth and more colour to its original meaning.
Especially now that we’re working on new material it is interesting to reflect on our earlier work. How the story unfolds and where the next chapter will lead us. ♥
Personally, and musically speaking. Thank you for the opportunities and challenges, the inspirations and discoveries. Thank you for connecting us with so many new people, and for, all in all, allowing us to move things in a better direction.
We’ll spare you a lengthy end-of-year review but want to bring you a little song …
While turning on the news each day makes you want to pull out your hair and the nuttiness of the world hasn’t slowed down, we more than ever appreciate the things that are going right in our lives. Our family, friends, this beautiful community, the support of like-minded people, our health, the opportunities to learn and grow and the power of music that brings it all together.
Thank you to everyone who has sent us Christmas cards, messages, thoughts, gifts even, listened to or bought our music, joined the MLT Club, told a friend about us, made our songs part of their day or simply let us entertain them by doing what we do. We are glad we’re able to create things and we are glad you want to listen.

We’re bringing you a stripped-back 2-guitars & 2-vocals version of “Baby’s In Black”. Originally recorded for the MLT Club, we thought we’d now share it with our wider audience, too.
The tune is once again one of those perfect little Beatles songs drenched in melody and harmonies, ideal for a Duo Session in a corner of our studio. Sprinkle John Lennon’s somewhat dark, cheeky, rude, charming, cute (… what are they!?) lyrics on top and you get “Baby’s In Black”.
