Last week we posted the video for our song “Janitor Joe” here in the MLT Club for Early Access. If you haven’t seen it yet click here to watch it first. Otherwise, today’s video/interview won’t make much sense to you!

It’s the first time in MLT history that we had someone else create a music video for us! Despite our passion for video-making we recognised that we don’t always have to do EVERYTHING ourselves, especially when others with talent can and want to get involved!

In today’s video we talk to Natalie Palumbo, the lovely person that animated “Janitor Joe” for us. We hope you’ll enjoy our conversation and collaboration! 🙂

Any Other Day – Behind The Scenes

Any other place …

Well, we chose “Chester” for our place of choice when we filmed the music video for “Any Other Day”.

It’s a picturesque little town and almost everywhere you turn looks good!

It was a chilly (like on all the other days we ever film a video outside) but gorgeous day, and the four of us were able to wrap up the entire shoot in less than 4 hours, which might be a record for us! We know this for sure, because our parking meter would have run out after 4 hours but we made it home without a ticket! 😉

Big thanks to Michaela for filming the behind- the-scenes footage, we hope you all enjoy coming along on our little trip to Chester!

“WHY?” Vinyl – Pre-Order NOW

Pre-Sale has started! Release Day: March 19th

After months of waiting for our “WHY?” vinyl to come back from the pressing plant, we have finally been given a delivery date, and pre-orders can start!

The official release date will be March 19th, and we will aim to dispatch all pre-orders before or on the day.

If you are an MLT Club member, we will also sign the cover of your vinyl record so perhaps this is a good opportunity to try out the MLT Club! 🙂

We also did a repress of the ORANGE vinyl, this time on classic black vinyl and without the foldable cover, 3D spot-gloss finish or printed inner sleeve. The new ORANGE vinyl is much simpler but therefore also a lot cheaper, so you can now choose between the more affordable option or still pick up one of the remaining limited-edition coloured vinyl with all its bells and whistles (UPDATE: Limited-Edition is sold out now).

We LOVE vinyl, and the vinyl-boom over the last few years excites us a lot. It’s great to see it come back, even though that means ridiculously long production lead times because all the remaining pressing plants in Europe are so overworked! Well, not long now …

WHY? Album Cover – Making Of

The Artwork of WHY?

When the album came out a couple of months ago, we mentioned that the artwork was drawn by Lisa on her iPad and a software called “Procreate”. It took several days to complete but Lisa had her screen-recording turned on the whole time, so we could capture the process and show you a speed version later.

We had so many other ideas before we settled on the route of having Lisa draw the artwork! At one point we got into long-exposure photography because we wanted to potentially draw out the word WHY with some lights over water. Then there was the idea of having us float in a kiddie pool in the middle of the ocean. Or the minimal approach of white letters on a black background …

Well, we scrapped all of that and ended up with what you now know as the final artwork. We hope you enjoy watching its creation!

Make Show – Behind the Scenes

How to make show!

Are you interested in how we filmed our most recent video “Make Show”? We cut together a behind-the-scenes video documenting a bit of the process so we can share it with you here in the MLT Club. 

The last few music videos that we filmed had all taken 3 days of shooting and coincidentally “Make Show” was no exception. We spent 3 days in our small but mighty filming room trying to capture the essence of the song and then made some more magic happen during the editing process.

We loved the effectiveness of a quite simple video idea and hope you all enjoy this look behind the curtains!

Down the line we will share some footage of our initial idea for a music video that we filmed all the way back in 2020 in Hamburg. 🙂

New Abum Title & Cover & Merch Reveal

WHY?

Here it is! Our upcoming album WHY? will be ready for pre-order from next Friday. We’re so excited to be able to finally share with you the title, artwork and all the merchandise that will go along with the release.

We will refrain from going into the details of the various creative decisions that went into the title and cover art because you really need to hear the music first. 🙂

The official release date and streaming date will be announced next week!

Off To The Presses – Album Update

That’s it …

The audio files are sent off now and the CDs are getting pressed. There is nothing we can change now – what a terrifying but also liberating feeling! 😉

In today’s video we’re just giving you a little update and announce the MLT Club pre-release date!

After some very busy days we’re taking the rest of the day off so we can start brainstorming the next music video!

Questionable – Behind the Scenes

Come, have a peek behind the green screen …

Welcome to the making-of video for “Questionable”, our most recent official original release (we have since shared some more original tunes here in the MLT Club).

A few weeks ago we already shared the photo post to accompany the music video but yesterday we finally finished cutting together the behind-the-scenes video for it. 3 Days of Shooting – 1 day for the “spa” scenes, 1 day for the “dating” scenes and 1 day for the “performing/singing” scenes. Followed by a week of non-stop editing, something we didn’t include in the making-of as it would only show us sitting in front of the computer. 🙂

We hope you’ll enjoy the video and once again send our thanks to everyone involved!
