Just a Few More Days…
Hi MLT Clubbers. I became a paying member in July 2022. A few weeks later, on August 9, I started to keep track of the total views and subscribers to the MLT Youtube channel. Total views then stood at 80,523,146. Now, 555 days and 736 entries later, the MonaLisa Twins Youtube channel is about to pass a significant milestone. As of my last check about an hour ago, the total YT channel views were at 99,914,304. With daily views since I’ve been tracking averaging about 35,000, that means we’re less than three days away from seeing the channel hit one hundred million views.
Resident MLT statistician David Herrick has some ideas on how we can mark the event, which I’ll let him share. I just wanted to be sure folks knew.

Thanks for keeping track of these stats, David. Of course the total only updates once every few hours, so unfortunately we won’t really be able to “watch” it go over 100M. Currently it’s at 99,930,855.
Here’s how I thought we might mark the occasion. (Feel free to suggest modifications or alternatives.) We could start a thread where we contribute some of the best (by whatever metric) comments that we’ve seen posted on YouTube regarding various MLT videos. That would kind of put the focus on the people who are actually doing the viewing that has culminated in this milestone.

Woohoo! Youtube really made me wait for this one! I kept checking and checking until eventually I just had to leave the house. And then 20 minutes later, I checked on the road and sure enough they had crossed the mark. I just got back home and saw another update, to 100,028,126. Probably 100 of those were from me checking the count!
I discovered a site called “socialblade.com” that automatically tracks different social media accounts and makes some not-very-reliable projections. That site predicts MLT to hit 125 million in 324 days. That’s pretty optimistic, but if Mona and Lisa do an open Livestream every few months I think they can get there. The Livestream also lead to a jump in club memberships and of course donations. I’m sure it’s no coincidence that after the Livestream MLT had their fastest 1,000 increase in channel subscriptions since before August 2022.
Now on to 110,000,000!

Dear MLT-
On May 28, 2008 you started your YouTube channel.
About 8 years later on Oct. 20, 2016 you posted the 59th Street Bridge Song to celebrate 10 million views.
Now about 8 years later on Feb. 17, 2024 you have surpassed 100 million views!
Now we are on the way to 1 billion!
Congats to Team MLT for reaching this milestone. THANK YOU for all the smiles and joy you have created. 🙂

As with all great things, the MLT growth and proliferation across the globe is on an exponential trajectory. 1 to 10M in 8 years, 10M to 100M in 8 years. 100M to 1 Billion I think much quicker as the snow ball gains momentum.
