#1 – Pretty Flamingo – Duo Session (MLT Club Exclusive)

Hello, it’s Mona and Lisa here!

Today we want to share a little video with you as a “Thank You”.

It is something that you won’t find on our YouTube channel as it is part of the exclusive videos and content of the MLT Club – a special section and community area on our website that you would usually need a purchased subscription to access.

We consider ourselves incredibly lucky to have been able to turn our passion into a career. It’s people like you who make that possible through your purchases, your spreading the word, your encouraging messages and valuable feedback. You give our journey meaning, and for that we are more grateful than you might imagine.

The way we are going about our career – as a family business without industry middlemen and in direct contact with our audience  – has helped us to stay independent, flexible and authentic.

To stay in touch with you we want to share with you our acoustic version of Manfred Mann’s “Pretty Flamingo”, a 60s pop classic especially well known on the European side of the Atlantic. It’s a fun song and hopefully a pick-me-up in these strange times 🙂

We hope you’ll enjoy it and would love to read your thoughts. Let us know by  or leaving a comment – we read them all!

Talk soon and stay groovy,
Mona & Lisa

  1. Beautiful singing, beautiful harmonies, nice solo parts, Nice song and yes a good pick me up for a Monday.

  2. Hey, this is a really nice fresh sound that you have performed with a song that was part of my teen era. You are both so happy singing this song, I enjoyed your version, thank you.

  3. As a teen in the sixties, I was weened on and influenced by the music of the British Invasion. In both your covers of this era and your original compositions, you bring the genre back to life. Your harmonies, instrumentation, musical arrangements and videos add a spark and vitality to your presentation. I enjoy listening to and watching your performances. Best of luck in the future.

  4. Absolutely fantastic, I have always liked this song but the way you sing it, is pretty special well done, love your voices, the way you interpret a song lovely

  5. Please write more of your own songs. I LOVE ‘Why’ and you are too talented to just do covers – however beautifully sung!😂❤️

  6. This made me smile all the way through. This song has been covered so many times, but this is my favourite. There is something so infectious and joyful about your performances and you are fabulous musicians. 👏👏👏

  7. Good session, not a great song, but well sung thanks though for the personal touch of recording and sending it.
    Reg, Kirkcaldy, Scotland

  8. Sorry if this sounds a bit wet.
It’s been a long hard day and tomorrow I bury my best friend. When I was down I’d call him up and he’d play his harmonica down the phone at me.
Got home tonight and this was in my inbox. And it made me laugh and it made me cry.
Thank you. Cheered me up. Needed that
    Ciao
    KG x

  9. Your own songs and covers are superb.
As a child in the 1960s, I bought loads of singles and your covers invoke great memories.
Can you cover Living in the Past by Jethro Tull..its in 5:4 time !!!
    Cheers
    Graham

    Montrose, Scotland.

  10. Greetings from Southwest Harbor, Maine. Really enjoying your music. How about a trip to this side of the pond for some concerts! Cheers!

  11. “Paradise is where I’ll be” Great lyrics. A little more straight forward than Manfred Mann’s “blinded by the light.” Its fun following the two of you expressing your artform.

  12. Yesterday, I had a dental implant procedure done. When I got home this was waiting in my inbox. What a nice surprise. It was a bit of fun & joy that was most welcome at that moment. Thank you!

  13. Great cover of another sixties classic. I love both the live at the Cavern album with great Beatles covers and also Why, which I played for the first time today and then repeated.

  14. In his era, MM was well received and appreciated by many. I hope I don’t put any other members off with my next statement… but I believe MLT has not only revived this superb tune, but excelled in it’s resurrections’. You Lassies have no doubt nailed this one! From the adorable yet effective harmonica opening to the superb harmonies — one can only stand in awe of your constant improvements. Keep it up, Mona & Lisa!!!

  15. Hi from Ft Lauderdale, FL. I came across your YouTube channel by chance about a week or so ago. You both are awesome musicians and brighten up the day with your covers and original music. Keep up the great work!

  16. Hi ladies, your tone & style is unique, some brilliant renditions of some classic tunes xx

  17. Well performed and I love it that you don’t change the words from the originals. Sixties was the best era for music, new and exciting.

  18. I remember that song playing on the airwaves regularly from back in the day. Manfred Mann had a very widely varied sound and song repertoire, and you girls did great justice to one of their really great tunes.
Thanks for doing this for the Club Membership!!!

  19. Paul Jones would approve and applaud your version of Pretty Flamingo. Another excellent cover, you girls really do rock.

  20. WOW!!! Everything I hear from you just keeps getting better and better. And to think I’d never heard of you until I heard Jonny Be Good at my barbers! Luckily my Shazam app told me who was singing, and I was hooked.
Thanks for the music, keep up the good work.
    Jim xx

  21. Just clearing up old emails and noticed you sent me the link to this the day I joined MLT Club. My scrappy email management may have spoiled the gesture but not the surprise. Thank you. I’m old enough that I bought the Manfred Mann 45 when it was new but for some reason I haven’t thought of it in a good many years and you revived it for me superbly. Did I say thank you already? Don’t care, THANK YOU – for ALL you do and how you do it.

  22. Terrific! All your cover versions are played extremely well and compliment the originals. I do remember the Pretty Flamingo one! Well done both of you, and especially Mona on the ‘little harp’ – as John Lennon once called it.

  23. Another really fun cover! Love it! Your talents can’t be denied but your love of what you do is what makes this special.

  24. Another brilliant song with such great harmonies, from two lovely ladies, well done Twins Look forward to hearing and seeing more

  25. Thank you so much for your rendition of ‘Pretty Flamingo’, what you two accomplish is nothing short of remarkable – such a perfect sound and diction. Manfred Mann were one of a handful of groups I actually saw live in my younger days. Loved the complementary touches, the t-shirt and the hanging. Did you paint it? Keep doing what you’re doing 👌 👏

  26. How could I not love this song? And how could I not join a fan club that has the same initials as my oldest granddaughter–MLT? Furthermore, she happens to be in marketing and would be impressed at how well the two of you have jumped all over marketing! Keep those great harmonies coming, they are as beautiful as the two of you.

  27. A fabulous version of a true 60s classic. The Manfreds are playing Southport in May but I’d rather see you live!

  28. You always look like you’re having so much fun and really enjoying yourselves – never fail to cheer me up! Your harmonies are just SO good – something that you sometimes find particularly when siblings sing together (e.g. the Webb Sisters). Great that you have recognised and been inspired by the wealth of great material from earlier times too – I remember all these songs from the first time around too (and once missed an opportunity to see The Beatles live during their very early days, due to lack of funds, sadly.

  29. Great performance. Coincidentally, I recently saw Paul Jones (of Manfred Mann) give a stellar concert at the Music Room, the Liverpool Philharmonic venue. You should come and play there!

  30. Excellent! I’ll never get tired of listening to this song and your performances are always flawless. How you manage numerous covers and never butcher a single one is really amazing!

  31. I’ve just gott say, “Thankin’ ye!” ‘Tis a frigid and getting colder several days here in Nebraska, and this nice little ditty has just warmed us up, a bit. A lovely cover!

  32. Greetings from Down Under. Another great cover – thank you girls. I am not normally a big fan of covers, but when they are done as well as you have done I can listen to them all day.

  33. Nice song. Too bad it wasn’t appreciated so much in the states. I’ve followed you since maybe a video you did in a bar. But my first MAJOR impression was you busking on the streets and the lead guitarist (Lisa?) doing a spot-on intro and one of the solos to Crossroads. Wow! I learned the intro by TAB but then got lazy, Guitar gymnastics. I mostly played by ear. Speaking of, if you ever do LZ’s Stairway, note the the Am7 up and down the fretboard won’t without alternate tuning (drop D on the 12-string). But all this stuff is written out or snatched by computers nowadays. I played since I was 12, but have arthritis now. About the club, I’m retired, and between my kids turning 18 and having to pay Medicare. I’ve got more going out than is coming in, if that changes, I’ll join. But don’t worry, my wife has money and I don’t think she’ll let me starve.

One last bit:I have a friend in Europe who is pals with Jimmy Page. His name is Mason Ruffner. Give him my email and say Bill says long time, no see. If you doubt, look at Dylan’s Oh Mercy album. He’s credited as lead guitar. And Dylan even talks about him in Chronicles I. He’s played with Ringo, CSN, and many others. I used to hang around with him in New Orleans’ French Quarter 1980-85, when I think he got a little help from his friend Jimmy. Only jammed with him twice, though.

  34. Thankyou lovely ladies for sharing one of my favourite songs, you have brightened up my day !

  35. Thanks for sharing more great music. I’ve ordered two copies of your latest as Christmas gifts. Can’t wait to hear it. Now come to America to tour!

  36. Wow, I sit in my kitchen and listen to your excellent version of Pretty Flamingo and you bring me straight back to the best days of my life! You’re a musical knock out and make it so very good! I love to listen and watch you sing and play! Thank you for bring back so much great feelings with your music! Hugs from Claes in my kitchen in Sweden❤️

  37. Excellent as always…saw you in Liverpool at Beatleweek..very talented keep up the good work ladies🙂

  38. Lovely version of a great song – so well played and sung with lots of musicianship, love and joy. Love the CDs too – keep going with it!!!

  39. That’s a wonderful Version of “Pretty Flamingo ”

Your Cavern Club CD ist absolutly great!!

Thank you very much, its wonderful!

Do you give Concerts in Germany?

  40. Your very cool version of this song (with harmonica & those harmonies) sounds more like early Beatles, love it!

  41. Lovely song and you both are great and as someone who just discovered your band I
am so loving the music thanks for sharing your music and talent to the world
    .

  42. I was 8 years old when Pretty Flamingo was released and like some of the other songs from the 60’s you have performed you are exposing me to songs I have never heard or have completely forgotten. I don’t know why FB started pushing Beatles related material to me the summer of 2022 but I am glad you were part of that. I appreciate your work, your dedication to the 1960’s music style and your sense of humor.

Pretty Flamingo is a fun and enjoyable song. Thanks for that. Also thanks for exposing me to Sixto Rodriguez through your Sugar Man video. Although a dark song it is beautiful and reminds me of when I lived in the San Diego area with all the Latino music playing everywhere. I have since gone back and started listening to Herb Alpert & the Tijuana Brass, Sergio Mendes and Brasil 66 & of course Santana. Good memories & again thanks.

    Be cool!

  43. Brilliant! Love the combination of your voices..one of my favourite teenage songs..later in life I photographed Paul Jones several times with The Blues Band and met him again recently in April 2017 @ The Bridge, Chelsea. Quite the star!

  44. Thrilled to hear your “Cavern Club” version of Graham Gouldman’s “Bus Stop” and your interpretation of those Tony Hicks (Hollies) minor guitar chords, so evocative. Shivers up my spine, not least because Graham Gouldman and 10cc progressed to work from my friends’ farmyard at Woodford, Cheshire, a house I know well from my teenage years, many parties, a home of music. My friend Nicola Gebolys who grew up there became a concert pianist, she married Christian Blackshaw who still performs at a very high level, we remain in touch. Google him! Anyway it would be wonderful to meet up and take you to see this extraordinary place that spawned so much eclectic music. Are you willing? xxHerbie

  45. No, I should thank you for a real treat! Another beautiful rendition, I can’t believe how talented you guys are – I only discovered your music by chance a couple of weeks ago and I love everything I’ve heard. Keep your independence and do it your way – it’s working great!

  46. Excellent version, we flogged this song to death in our band at the Palace Hotel & Casino in the Isle of Man in the 1960’s, and Mona and Lisa are far better looking than Paul Jones xx

  47. Great work on Taxman! Everything spot on… drums included. Your harmonies are catchy. You make music fun.

  48. I received my two cds last week, and thanks to the digital version had already listened to one. I really enjoyed the music, your writing, the wit in the lyrics and dry humor. “Pretty Flaming” sounds familiar but was never aware of any of the words or the title. Thanks for honoring the music of those times.

  49. Love the harmonies, perfect as usual. Sounding very ‘folksy’.
My only (minimal) complaint is that this track lacks the “base/beat” that you ladies normally achieve.
Having said that, another hit which emphasises your incredible talent.
    Keep on making history. Xx

  50. Had forgotten this song was Manfred Mann. Maybe because I got more into the bands later songs leaning to a heavier rock sound. Regardless, I hadn’t heard it in years, but it came back quick enough.

  51. Your harmonies are so tight!
Thanks for sharing your talent and brightening our days!
One of my favorites is your version of “God Only Knows”, would you please consider some more Beach Boys harmony driven classics?

  52. Manfred Mann – okay, I need to do some homework! Love this! Now, you see, I expected to find out that “June“ was also the product of some early 60s band that I don’t know much about… And was delighted to learn that is your original! It has practically every early 60s pop cliché, all rolled into one song, and it’s every bit as good as anything anyone produced in that time period. Kudos from the Left Coast, ladies! 👏🏼

  53. Yes, you really did pick me up! Just had a repair to the car and any additional expense doesn’t fit the budget! I used to sing with 3 lady friends – all harmonies, all covers. Such fun! Keep it up!

  54. Great rendition of this song, brings back memories of the swinging 60s,really like the way you put your own slant on the covers you do,not just trying to copy them,so refreshing.
Have only recently discovered you,and love all that you do,now have all your CDs and am eagerly looking forward to more, keep up the good work 🤓

  55. Great rendition of a very cool song! I just love to hear your voices, especially when you do your harmonies. Very fun; thanks for sharing this with us.

  56. Loved it. You guys are so much fun to watch and listen to. You obviously love what you do and your songs never fail to leave me with a smile.

  57. Love it! You are so talented, love your voices and your harmonies and you did a great job on this old classic! I could completely see this song hitting main stream radio ♥️
Keep on doing you, because you are great!

  58. As much as I like the covers you do, I like your original music much more. Keep up the great work writing and recording your own music.

  59. I love the song. Your original songs I love too. You have a unique style. The way you and your father arrange and record your albums is magical. Thank you for sharing your talent with the world. Your fan David

  60. Hi Girls, I’d just like to say it’s great that you are keeping the baby boomer songs alive, My favorite era. As a 63 year old. I have started taking singing lessons and I took up ukulele at 61. However I am a big fan of your original stuff. Keep it going.

  61. Got my cd’s yesterday. Thanks so much. Love them!! Hope you can make it here to the states sometime. Would love to see you in concert. Keep up the beautiful work!! Gary Stone in Florida USA

  62. Love it, terrific video. You two ladies sound so wonderful and you obviously have fun while creating music, you are just a joy to watch and to listen to, keep the music coming!

  63. Beautiful! I have twin Granddaughters myself. They are 18 months old. Love music and I play guitar and sing to them. They Rock their little bodies to the beat. They are not identical twins but they are both beautiful little girls and love music too like their Grandpa!

  64. Hi, I Love the’60s and the Beatles you two bring a freshness to the music. Your own songs also have a 60’s fill as well. Love your music keep it up. Love Dennis

  65. Great song girls love it. Have you got anything else to sing. Great fan of elvis. And hard rock. Pink variety of your voice.

  66. Luv it, great. Just started listening, thank you. Really enjoy “Why” & “Orange” refreshing & great clear lyrics. Amazing musical talent

  67. Absolutely wonderful cover. I like how the Twins version added very Paul Jones-ish harmonica, not on the Manfred’s version. Paul would be proud. Thank you for the wonderful music you make Mona and Lisa. My partner and I are loving our calendar, which keeps us smiling in gloomy January. I shall be back to your website soon as I know there are still more goodies, I need in my life. Thank you again.

  68. I know you Gals are influenced by the Beatles, so I couldn’t help but think of ‘You’ll Love Me Too’ (I’m not sure of the title, sorry; a few of their lyrics are: I shoulda known better with a girl like you, that I would love everything that you do . . . ) from your opening harmonica bars. Then you come out with your own tune and it’s great! You know I love you Gals

  69. I do remember the song but I had forgotten it until I heard your wonderful version, It must have been pretty popular here in the States too. I was just a kid but I do remember it and thank you for your wonderful version.

  70. Fantastic version of great song and I’m old enough to remember the original…
Only recently found your music, why has it taken me so long… Great stuff.

  71. Excellent! Great cover of another 60s classic. Loved your music since Steve Harley introduced me to it back when you supported his tour. Cheers 🍻 Chris

  72. Great Duo, I came across your songs by accident. Absolutely fabulous voices from both of you. Thanks for the recent DVDs looking forward to listening them.

  73. For several months now, it has been a great pleasure for me to enjoy all your videos on YT. A few days ago I downloaded eight of your CDs, which I also listen to with the greatest pleasure. Now it’s time to see a live concert! Are you going on tour?
Und hoffentlich auch in Deutschland, Hamburg ist so eine schöne Stadt!

  74. Hey, luv’d it girls. Tookme back a few years. 😎
I do voice coaching. Would youind if I used this vid to demonstrate correct mouth shaping to my students?
Have now listened to your Orange disc a few times and I find I like it more each time. The Caven recordings take me right back to.my youth. Thanks for being you.👍😊🌻x

  75. Not sure how I ended up stumbling across you guys, but only found you recently when one of your Cavern Club videos came across my feed. I have been there before (from Chicago) but would make a special trip back if you guys were ever playing that venue again. You guys are the first band I have fallen for in years. If you ever play anywhere live again, I hope you will announce it, as I would definitely get on a plane. Keep up the great work.

  76. I love your work. The Pretty Flamingo video was great. I really liked the way it was presented with visual references to flamingos throughout.
My wife Carol and I do a radio show, The Rock and Roll Cookbook, on an all volunteer station in Savannah, Georgia WRUU FM 107.5 – https://www.wruu.org/. The show airs on the first and third Tuesday of each month at 4:00 pm Eastern time. The next show will be on December 6th and the title is “It’s A Family Affair”. We are planning on playing your song “Questionable” on our show, which will focus on musical acts that include couples, siblings, cousins, etc. We normally focus on music from the 1950s through the 1980s, but we also include newer music if we feel that it is very good and deserves recognition.
You can listen to our show live on the website, or the recorded version which is usually posted to the website about 24 hours later. If you’d like to send us an MP3 of no more than 30 seconds to introduce your song and say hello to the people of Savannah, we’d love to include it on our show.

  77. I was looking out my window at a dismal rainy day in Florida, USA & played your video. You brightened up my day as you usually do.I enjoy listening to your recordings which I have 6 of. I thought I ordered “Why” but I don’t have it.Maybe it’s on the way across the pond.Anyway thanks for the wonderful music you make.

  78. Thanks for the exclusive video – it was a pleasure to get it – and BTW, I really like the new album Why – but getting back to this version, I was transported right back to 1966 when I was 14 and enjoying being a teenager in the best decade – you really did it justice.

  79. I think that no matter how convincing I try to be, I won’t be able to express how much your message made me feel so good, especially on a day like today when I’m a little sad. Thank you so much for sharing this video with me. I want you to know that since I first saw you, as little girls on YouTube, I can’t imagine how it would be to live without you and your music.

  80. Beautiful version. Amazing harmonies. I’m glad you are independent of the big music companies. I think it’s the only way to stay authentic and do what you like. Maybe that explains why you are always smiling. I wish you the best.

  81. I am sorry I forgot to thank you for the video Pretty flamingo, I love it. It was a big surprise. it is always a great pleasure to watch you MonaLisa, you are great singers and great musicians.I love everything you do. Mona i would love to see you playing at the harmonica: I should have known better. You are so good at the harmonica. Thanks again.

  82. Great cover of Pretty Flamingo I love it. Mona you are so good at the harmonica. Ladies you are fantastic.Everything you do is brillant.

  83. Hello dear ladies! Thank you for everything ! Your music of course; yours and your covers, your smiles and your joie de vivre! This summer, I sent you a postcard from Rome… Did you receive it please? The Italian post is not one of the most reliable it seems. But what a country! Stay grooovyyy !

  84. In between the spaces of the colours of the voices lies just enough room to shoehorn the fuzzy feeling and the broadest smiles that remind me why I am alive,
    tusen takk

  85. Hey young ladies, so amazing video and song…
How much your voices are adequate with that style too ..
For sure you are making my day …
    B the 🧸

  86. Another discovery i owe you credit for ladies. Very nice rendition.
I never knew much about manfred mann. Cheers

  87. Greetings Twins!!!
I became acquainted with you through your Play the Beatles and More cd and became an instant fan. You embody the spirit, joy, harmonic sensibilities, humor, playfulness and talent of the Beatles. And yet you are uniquely and creatively you!!!

Just received the live Cavern Club cd today and there is just so much to love about it.
Thank you for the “thank you” video of Pretty Flamingo. You have the Midas touch; everything you undertake turns to gold. You just shine!!! May your journey continue to bring you endless joy, success and inspiration.
    With much gratitude and love,
    Bruce

  88. Only recently July 22 I have stumbled on the Monalisa Twins. You both are so professional and as musicians you sparkle and shine. I have The Cavern Club sessions and Orange.
Obviously having a great Father and music producer was a gift and you both grew up around music. I watch your fingers on those chords and they wrap around the fret board so easily, that takes years of learning unless like you two you just seem naturals.
You are right, 60’s music is so much better than today’s music.
At least with 60’s music I can sing any song I want to easily.
Twins amaze me as I would have been a twin myself unfortunately our Mother had a miscarriage but I survived. Strange thing is that once my Mother told me at age 14 years it was like a closed door had been opened in my mind and I do have a sixth sense and feel connected to my twin. (Now if that’s not an idea for a song I don’t know what is) go to it lovely ladies, see what you can come up with!!!
I like your independant approach to the business and I am happy to support. Play on.

  89. Top notch!!!! brilliant guitar playing and singing (and mouth organ), I dont think I have listened or watched anything the two of you have done and not been amazed

  90. Love it, I was around when the original came out, brings back memories. You look like you are having so much fun when you are singing and playing.

  91. I enjoyed this! Have y’all ever covered Leapy Lee’s “Little Arrows”? I bet you’d really bring it to life! I only just recently discovered y’all, but instantly became a big fan!

  92. Absolutely brilliant again . I am hooked on your music and your refreshing style. Clearly you are enjoying what you do and it is the one thing you must never forget to do

  93. I’m in a band here in the United States and all three of us agree on one thing. First we are Beatles fans so we love that you love them. But the other part is that is so clear you really are having fun and enjoy yourselves as you make music. Your song about politicians was the BEST!

  94. Great cover, much lovelier than the original, which I remember well from daaaaays agoooo… You make great music!

  95. Well, I must say I found your music very true to the original, but in your own style, very refreshing. I played in bands myself for over 50 years but was never fortune enough to make a career from it. I appreciate how much effort it takes to produce a good sound. You are a credit to both yourselves and the music you produce.

  96. Today, January 21, 2022, we received your calendar. The photos are great, Thank you so much. It was worth the wait.

  97. There is something very special and unique about you both which is reflected in your singing. A beautiful combination of the different instruments along with your voices make each song an enjoyable journey.

  98. Thank you for the gift of your beautiful music! It always brings much needed happiness and a smile. I hope you and your loved ones have a wonderful Merry Christmas. Stay safe and well during these crazy, difficult times, and of course, stay groovy!

    1. Very very nice! You girls are just too sweet. Hope everything is going well for you all. Merry Christmas and here’s to hopefully a better new year ????????????
  99. Thanks for the share – it cheered up an otherwise dull and rainy Saturday – and thanks for sending the Christmas album which is superb as well.

  100. I really enjoy this video! I think Mona’s voice is perfect for this song. What is that thing on the floor that you play like a bass drum? You two make me want to start playing myself again!

  101. I only discovered your music recently and was blown away by the quality of the harmonies. Now I have the albums and listened to them all I am hooked.

  102. Terrific job and I love your joy in doing it. Unique sound too. You make me smile, great stuff.

  103. What fun loving young people you are. I smile when listening to your songs. Thank you ????

  104. You just transported back to a time and place that held special memories for me. Thank you ????
Lovely rendition of this timeless classic. So good to hear you diversifying into this period of music. Keep up the great work. Luv it! ????

  105. I’m new to the party, and looking forward to receiving a handful of CDs from you.

I must remark on how full and complete this arrangement sounds, with just a guitar, shaker, harmonica, and foot-tap thingie (plus those luscious voices, of course). Wondrous work, here!

  106. MonaLisa,

this is an excellent presentation of this wonderful song of Manfred Mann’s band. As in many other cases of your cover versions, you met the characteristics of the song exactly and did it fantastic. Thank you!!

  107. Another wonderful trip down memory lane and a perfect reminder of happier times. I like how you sang this version and yes the harmonies as always are perfect! Anyone, below, not mentioning any names Papi; anyone who claims to have perfect pitch, knowledge or expert experience and knowledge are fooling themselves. And quite frankly have got their head too far up where it shouldn’t be.

Perhaps Papi you should have thought about artist’s interpretation and harmonies if you had such perfect pitch. Sorry ladies but I thought you were as always simply perfect and your voices excel allowing me to visit my past without the abrupt and painful memories flooding back and sense of loss, what was and never shall be again! Please continue to sing whatever songs you wish, you will both always make them yours.

  108. Hiya to you both, another incredibly enjoyable memory of my youth. Thank you for taking me back in such a painless way, and without having to buy a DeLorean… If you ever need a manual board operator give me a shout, never got on with digital lighting, parcans rule! I did enjoy doing it back in the 90s.
Stay safe, and keep on groving, Steve…

  109. Hi, Ladies.

I generally give you praise and ‘Likes’ when due. As a rule, I love your music, inluding most of the original songs.

However (you knew that was coming, didn’t you), I don’t think that this one flatters your voices much. Sorry. Mona, you go a little flat at times. (I suffer from perfect pitch.) I do love the harmonies of your voices, but this one didn’t work for me. I couldn’t listen all the way through, because it shatters my image of your usually pristine singing.

Here is one that I think you could really go to town on: Taking Care of Business, by Randy Bachman. Have you ever thought of trying it? In my estimation, it is the Papa of all rock songs.

Keep up the good work! This is a minor miss among your many, many hits! Look forward to hearing something else in the future.

    Grandfatherly yours,
    Papi.

  110. One of my FAVE songs from the British Invasion goups, Mafred Mann…and you gals covered it awesomely! It’s one I perform as well. All the best ladies….have been a fan since you were first on the internet.

  111. Fantastic version, you’re both such talented musicians. Thank you for staying independent and keeping it real. Thank you for your enthusiasm and joy. I love your voices, and your harmonies are beautiful. It’s a pleasure to watch your videos and listen to your music. Keep up the great work. From a fan in Australia.

  112. You two are just so much joy!
In a world so sadly broken and scared, thanks for being a constant source of fun and positivity. I love your covers- you only pick the best ones! Your original material is top quality as well. The videos of your live gigs prove what proficient musicians you are.
Thanks so much from a fan in the USA,

    Richard

  113. So much talent in small packages. Love your originals and your60’s covers. Keep filling the air with music. Love you, Jerry-Southern Oregon, USA

  114. Thanks for this, girls. As always, beautiful song, beautiful performance, and beautiful girls. Really artists, really talented, like musicians and singers. Real instruments, really beautiful voices. You two are an oasis in today’s musical desert. You seem to me a rare case for being so young and liking the music of 50 years ago and interpreting it so well and in such a fresh way. Thank you for giving us such great times with the cover songs of the Beatles and other artists from the 60’s, and also with your high-quality original songs. God bless you and grant you what you need and want most. A hug and a paternal kiss for both of you. Greetings from Monterrey Mexico.

  115. I listen to your music daily and it sounds as fresh as ever. Two very talented young ladies and i still think That Still a Friend of Mine and The Wide Wide Land are two of the most beautiful heartfelt songs i have ever heard . Please perform these live soon it has been a long time. Stay groovy.

  116. OMG, what a scintillating and truly authentic version of a 1960’s classic anthem. Once again, you have presented us with a great song that reminds us of days gone by. You never fail to amaze us Mona, and Lisa. Please do keep on doing what you do, your music is the best tonic for everybody, and music to the ears.

  117. Wow, thanks for sharing this. I really enjoy the music you two ladies create, it’s always a joy to listen to and you can see the joy you each have in making music. Loved this video, love all your videos, wishing you both the best of luck on your musical voyage. Would love to see you two live sometime if all this COVID nonsense ever ends and you come to the states for a tour.

  118. Hi girls, I met you looking for interpreters of Beatles songs on the Internet. That was a few years ago and it was love at first sight. You are very talented and we have to thank you for the songs you give us. Congratulations Mona, Lisa and the Wagner family.

  119. Wonderful, joyous and so much fun, There is so much to like with the way you treat the old classics. As like many of your followers i was a teenager in the 60′, evne had my flamingo, she played on my tennis team, in mixed doubles. Sadly that is all we were , team players, but good memories.
most days i listen to some of your tunes and the classics , you always give the music enthusiaism, energy and the happiness you have when you are performing is very magical.
I love you both and if i was younger, well as john sebastian said, “did you ever have to make up your mind”
Be safe and i wish you well , keep on doing what you do so well , and that is enjoy making music and happiness

  120. Nice one Ladies, took me right back to the sixties. Not going to put any downers on it I’m not a critic. I like the way you put your own spin on these oldies, they envoke old memories and I like that. Makes me feel young again. Thanks for that.

  121. Nice job, ladies ! Impressed with Mona’s ability to sing, shake the shaker and keep a beat on the bass drum. Lisa’s harmony of course is fabulous.

  122. Greetings Mona; Greetings Lisa,

Gosh, a Flamingo? Hmmm. You really got me. I don’t know birds that well….

Really, it’s a very clean recording of an interesting Manfred Mann song. Some tinkly sounding strings would also make it sound exotic if you decided to do another take, maybe Ernie Ball’s Earthwood light 80/20 bronze strings, I so love that sound when they’re brand new. Once they start oxidizing, they don’t sound so great. You guys know that already.

An interesting effect done to this tune was made by a Gerry and the Pacemakers version, using a rock ‘n’ roll electric bass and cranking up the tempo a little more than Manfred Mann’s

Give it a listen, see what you think, come up with an idea or two if it inspires you any to add a track, or whatever suits you. Mona’s maracas made a nice add-on effect and y’all look marvelous, MAH velous, MAHHH velous (Wunderbar). I appreciate getting to view this video, and to see the work you put into it is always charming. I’m still you’re fan after all these years right after When We’re Together came out.

PS – I’m am looking for permission to use only the lead guitar notes from my favorite MLT tune “June” for a movie I recently filmed. Can you let me know if that’s OK for one time use or what I need to do to be proper?

  123. Ausgezeichnet ! You really are something ! Less than a month ago I first saw you and endeared you at once. Now I got to a point where I’m not sure which I like more, the originals or you…Or your originals too…
You are already to some relative top, but please ‘don’t stop now !, …’cause we are having a good time’ too ! Vielen Dank ! ( in the meantime I’ll check if your repertoire includes anything from Queen )
By the way, I’m 58, older than your father, vielleicht, but listening to you sing makes me feel teenager again. Can’t wait to ‘wieder sehen’ you !

  124. Only discovered you both very recently but you are absolutely wonderful. I love cover versions that give you a joy at hearing a great song individually done that simultaneously conjures of warm memories of the original. I think Jack Bruce would be wowed at those backing vocals that go beyond his on the record. Love the Mona Lisa Twins

  125. I grew up in the 60’s and know the music of that era well. You guys perform incredible covers from that period. I also love your original
material as well. Need more YouTube clips!!! Thank you for providing so many smiles and fond memories. Love you. ❤

  126. One of the best songs from the 1960s I love your version of it. And love everything you do. Keep the music coming and I will continue to buy it. Stay Groovy.

  127. Bravo pour votre interprétation
    Belle voix et bonne humeur.
ça nous met de la joie dans le cœur.

  128. Unusual to hear improvements to old favourites but you seem to manage it every time. Great harmonies, it must help to be twins! A simple arrangement like this suits you perfectly.

  129. Love everything you do.Modern music Is total rubbish. I gave up on It In the 80’s.I get told you gotta move with the times…noooh, dont think so We were lucky to grow up In the 60’s & 70’s .Mona & Lisa you deserve your fame keep It up,xx

  130. IHello ladies! Always brightens my day when I open my email and there is a message from you in it! I really dig this song, it is one that I included on a mix cd I made to keep in my truck from all your other songs in my library.Y’all do a fantastic job with this song! By the way, VERY COOL that Mona found a blouse with flamingos on it for the video! Thanks again, and stay groovy, y’all!

  131. Beautiful song enhanced by your arrangement and your voices. I’ve been sending your songs to my son, the drummer for his band Stone Sugar Shakedown, in St.Louis as I think they could learn from your style and arrangements. They also do a mix of oldies and their own compositions. Keep it up !!

  132. Just terrific. I love the colourful harmonies and each of your own colourful individual persona. You both seem to be having such fun with your music and this adds to its appeal. As I said before- such a breath of fresh air in these challenging times. Thank you

    1. Thanks, Nick! If we didn’t enjoy and have fun making music we’d be doing something else. We’re glad it shows 😉

  133. Beautiful singing Girls, I love your Harmonies they are very tight, carry on your great work and hope to see you someday

  134. Just love listening to you – such fun, such verve, such skill – wonderful. Leaves me with a smile on my face and a good feeling in my heart. Thanks.

  135. I think you are amazing, I love your voices. Your covers are brilliant but I love your own music, my favourite is close to you, I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve listened to it.

    1. Thank you, that means a lot! We’ve got a whole new original album in the works right now so there is plenty more original music coming soon.

  136. I’ve always loved this song, but your version is even better than the original – and much more fun. I have all of your CDs, but California Dreaming has to be my favourite. Keep up the good work, and the good vibes.

  137. As i keep saying so young so very talented and Authentic that’s what we could do more of these day’s as music seems not so important to anyone anymore well done both of you.

  138. Hi Girls, I have all of your albums, I absolutely love your music (both covers and originals). I also share the same birthday but many many years older! Peace and love.

    1. Hi Birthday-Brother Mark! Thanks for the kind words and for getting our albums – it helps to make it all possible!

  139. Really enjoyed this song performed by a couple of very pretty flamingos. Hadn’t heard this song before! Love the harmonies and everything you do! Just heard your cover of Yesterday with all the beautiful cello! I’m a cello player. You are both great musicians! I’m addicted!

  140. Nice one twins – nice to hear yet another 60s cover that you’ve nailed – many thanks for the link to this version of a 1960s classic.

    1. A good idea, James! Also what about “Tequila Sunrise” and “Take It Easy” – Eagles, “When You Walk In The Room” – Searchers, “Child Of The Moon” – Rolling Stones,
“Rain”- “Don’t Let Me Down” – “Help” and “Get Back” – Beatles
There are so many songs I’d like to hear from the “Fab Two” (or “…Three” -include Rudolf)
Last not least: Mona, Lisa, I hope you’ll read this!!!!

      1. Thanks for the suggestions, you two! There are so many good songs out there to cover … if only there were 8 days a week and 50 hours in a day  😉

At the moment we’re writing and recording our 3rd original album but once that’s done we’ll think of some more tunes that would lend themselves to Duo Sessions!

  142. loved the original but this pair are much better to look at Than Manfred Mann, and the song is great (don’t normally find covers this good). should do Beatles Norwegian wood

  143. Wonderful, thank you, a classic song brilliantly performed. You should maybe check out a song by Clifford T Ward called ‘Time, the Magician’……you’re voices would really suit that song. You both have a rare talent and sound wonderful together.

    1. “Time the Magician” is my favourite Clifford T Ward song! 🙂 We record about a dozen of these “Duo Sessions” a year for the MLT Club, so next time we’re due to pick some new songs I’ll put it on the list of potential covers! Thanks for the suggestion and the kind comment!

  144. What a great version of Manfred Mann classic, beautifully played & Beautifully sung, you girls always capture the 60,s vibe in everything you do, another wonderful performance. ✌️✌️♥️♥️

  145. absolutely love you guys, your both very talented and Beautiful, would love a venue list for this or next year, the sound of the sixties is one that i thought could not be recaptured but wow you girls are doing it

  146. Hi, I’m a great fan of MLT and spreading the word…love your sound.
Also a great fan of Manfred Mann / Earth Band…60’s child, 70’s teenager, 80’s rocker.

Pretty Flamingo classic. Curious whether your cover of the following would be as great…
Mighty Quinn, Do Wah Diddy, My name’s Jack, Ha, Ha said the clown …???

Best of all “Davy’s on the road again”…

    1. Hi Dave! They would all be tempting to try 🙂 We are currently focusing on our original music but perhaps we’ll get to squeeze in another Manfred Mann cover down the line.

  147. Absolutely brilliant version I was around when the original was in the charts , you are very good at bringing back lovely memories THANKYOU x

  148. On the American side of teh pond, I don’t think I’ve ever heard this song before so I have no idea what the original soinds like. I really like your version though. Sounds great.

    1. Thanks! Manfred Mann was much bigger over here than in the US but they did some great stuff, especially in the 60’s, that’s well worth checking out :-)They did a great version of Dylan’s “Mighty Quinn”
