Tonight You Belong To Me – New Video

We just uploaded a new video!

Tonight You Belong To Me is an almost one hundred year old song (written in 1926) that has been in the charts several times since its creation. It’s been played by different artists and used in many movies and commercials.

It’s easy to see why! It’s such a simple yet unique little tune that sticks in your head forever. We’ve been playing it for many, many years and recorded this video for our MLT Club quite a while ago.

Today we uploaded it to our YouTube channel, so everyone else can watch it, too!

If you want to hear some new Duo Sessions that have not been released on any album yet, we welcome you to join the MLT Club where we post new Duo Sessions and other exclusive content regularly as a “Thank You” for supporting us on our journey!

If you like this cover you can find it on our album The Duo Sessions where you will also hear another 14 songs played by just the two of us.

A mixture of 60s and 70s covers as well as some stripped-down versions of our original tunes.

We’re still hard at work on the new album and are planning to release another single in February!

2022 has started off well for us, and we’re planning to keep that momentum going until that new record is out 🙂

You’ll hear from us again soon,
Mona & Lisa

  1. Perfekt! Ich glaube nicht, dass man diesen schönen (alten) Song noch besser darbieten kann. Das ist einfach höchste Kunst. Mehr geht nicht.

  2. Thank you for excepting me. I have loved you both from the minute I heard your lovely voices. After I lost my husband in 2019, I was going through a very difficult time. One very tough day I was scrolling music on YouTube and came across “MonaLisaTwins”. Well I laid down for 3 hours and listened with my headphones to the most beautiful music I have heard in years!! Truly I tell you, I felt a peace come over me that changed my life. Thank you for your beautiful, uplifting music. You both are so very special!! Thank you for making my ears and heart smile. Sending love and blessings. ❤????????????????????????❤

  3. Absolutely delightful would be an understatement here. You’ve infused so much joy and beauty into this song with your musical magic touch. Those wonderful harmonies, sweet sounds of the Ukelele, it’s a beautiful radiating musical gem that you don’t want to stop. It keeps going in your head even after it’s over. Loved it since the first listen. ????????

  4. I love your harmony on this song. These classics never lose their touch. The songs written in this period are forever endearing.
Thank you for your gift of song!

    1. I think most of the songs written in this period are not endearing. But those which are, are the only ones we know today.
This song is great and the interpretation by the Mona Lisa Twins makes it even better!
      Thank you MLT!

  5. Just love hearing these two young ladies…so many tunes that I;ve heard from over the years…they never cease to amaze me with their talent.

  6. I think you have definitely made this wonderful song yours. The harmonies are even stronger than in the past and you positivity is uplifting…

  7. I believe I posted on this song before but I do love the harmonies on this catchy tune and you both do such a good job with your voices and instruments. I do have the Duo Sessions CD and when this song comes on, I can sing along with Mona on her parts, Lisa? A bit out of my faceto voice….LOL.but thank you for sharing this fun and catchy video, again the love you both have for each other and your craft is simply beautiful.
Bill and Maddie Isenberg Huge fans from Pittsburgh PA USA .

  8. One of your best, but then what is your best? I think June takes some beating. They are all great! I will never tire of you two.

  9. Yes, thank you! I would very much like to belong to you. But I guess that you are already spoken for. 🙂

Merci beaucoup!! Merci beaucoup!!! Merci beaucoup!!!

  11. Superb choice and performance… the simplicity of the song and your harmonic arrangement insure another 100 years of artistic rendition. A gorgeously simple lyric and sentiment… thank you MLT’s.

  12. What a wonderful choice of song. I think that when I hear most of your songs but this is such a different type of tune and so fresh and unexpected. I love it!

  13. I’m old enough to remember the Patience and Prudence recording back in the 50’s. You do this wonderfully and bring back memories of when the schoolgirls would sing this (without harmony). I would love to hear you do a similar tune that P & P recorded called “Gonna’ Get Along Without You Now”. Give it a listen, you two would do a fantastic job on it.

    1. That song is a great one but much more recent. Many people living now will be familiar with renditions by Skeeter Davis, Viola Wills and even “She & Him” (Zooey Deschanel with M. Ward). The trick would be to outdo the clever harmonies of Patience and Prudence–a challenge but I think the twins could do it.

  14. Wonderful rendition. Harmonies are right on.Really enjoy listening to you both.I have six of your c.d.’s & use them to chill out. Thanks for the music.

  15. That was very nice ladies. I haven’t heard that song since Steve Martin sang it in the movie The Jerk. I think you sang it better.

  16. What do they call those “longneck” ukeleles? I know I’ve heard this song before but can’t remember who I heard perform it.

      1. This reminded me that Steve also got to sing in “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band”, a movie released in 1978 where he played Maxwell Edison and of course he sang “Maxwell’s Silver Hammer” in his own unique way.

    1. a tenor ukulele! (I am showing up as a grey blog but this is Jenny Amanda Hurwitz in NYC and I have never heard this song before but love the way MLT does it!

  17. Nanü….!!! Was ist denn bei Euch los??? Ein Video nach dem Anderen!
Aber nur zu!!! Ich find’s toll! Die einzigen Lichtblicke in dieser traurigen Zeit.
