10 years ago today, we played our very first performance at the legendary Cavern Club in Liverpool, “the most famous club in the world”. Soon after, we began our 2-year Saturday night residency at the Beatles Mecca playing 2 sets containing various Rock’n’Roll covers, original tunes and of course … Beatles songs.
We’ve uploaded tons of videos from our final performance at the Cavern Club to YouTube already, but there are still a few that are only available at the MLT Club. And of course there is the double live album that contains ALL the 28 songs we played that night. Featuring Callum Williams on bass and Charlie Skeggs on drums!
To celebrate our 10 year anniversary of stepping foot on that beloved stage, we’re sharing our performance of one of the most important songs of all time.
1963 changed the world of music forever … “I Wanna Hold Your Hand” was The Beatles’ first American number-one hit which kicked off the British Invasion!

Hey everyone,
I visited the Cavern Club yesterday in Liverpool. A Beatle tribute band was playing complete with suites, mop tops, and John Lennon glasses. They were very good, though clearly not a patch on the twins 😄 Many in the audience were dressed 60s style, beehives and the works. The 60s lives on !!!
Their set included ‘Back in the USSR’ which coincidently is where I will be traveling tomorrow, to see my young daughter Sofia in Moscow. Wish me luck 🙃

I do think this was the first Beatles song I bought! I was 9 in 1963, and I played that 45 so many times the groove started to sound weird! It still brings me chills… it was my first foray outside of the tightly guarded culture of my religious family. 🙂

I love all that they do…..The Cavern Club is the place to be for all-time Beatle songs. BTW…are you ever going to visit the U.S.? I will be the first in line.
It seems as though I have made this post before. I heard the Beatles singing this song on the radio when it first came out. Four of us would often go after school to a café for a milkshake and sit in a booth that had a wall mounted “Jukebox” that had “I want To Hold Your Hand” on it. We played it over and over again until we found “She Loves You” and “Cant Buy Me Love” on it which we played all three of them over and over again.
10 years ago! That doesn’t seem like that long ago!? But Mona and Lisa would only have been 19 years old! I would think that would put them in the same league as the Beatles…. They were probably very similar age! That’s pretty good to have on your résumé at any age but especially that young! Congratulations ladies! You’re taking over the world one song at a time!🎶🤓

Love it. This was the very first Beatle song I listened to when it first hit the charts in the US. As far it being 10 years ago when you first played it at the Cavern? Impossible!
The first Beatles song I have heard was “I saw her standing there”, december 1963, of course the flip side of “I want hold your hand”, I love your cover at the Cavern Club, too bad I was not there. Beatles 4 Ever. merci Mona & Lisa.

Paul was called the “Cute Beatle” way back then, but you two Fab Girls are at the Toppermost of the Poppermost of Cute, Beautiful & every other description of someone who looks…oh, how should I say? Very Nice Indeed, to put it mildly!
You make it all look so easy, but I would like to have seen how much practice you put in to achieve your success!
Also, since you sang — “Oh please, say to me… you’ll let me be your man,” you could easily follow this song with your version of “Lola!”

I Want To Hold Your Hand and She Loves You were the first two Beatles songs I was aware of, being all of 3 years old when they came out. They’re still the first songs that come to mind when I think of The Beatles. I enjoyed hearing this on your double album, but it’s nice to see the actual performances of both these songs on You Tube, for alas I cannot justify the cost of a MLT Club membership at this time.

One of the Beatles most iconic songs, my favourite early Beatles song that made me feel and appreciate what Beatlemania was like, and you do this song amazing justice. You recreate that feeling of awe and passion when you hold someone’s hand you are crazy about. The Beatles were genius to write this, and you are brilliant to be able execute and express it so magically. Love it.
